4.0 out of 5 stars Nice item for the money
I was very pleasantly surprised by the RF range of this product. After you work out all of the settings, you can do what you need to do from a good distance away, unlike many of those lousy IR Keyboards and mice. No messy or clunky transmitter either. All you need is a USB port on your computer to use a small dongle-sized USB transmitter. If you are running an...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great range, but alway loses sync with the antenna
The only reason i bought two of these is because of the great range. I thought it would be the perfect solution in a large presentation room.

But guess what, every time I reboot the PC the USB Antenna some how loses sync with the keyboard, mouse and remote. Every time. I have replaced the batteries, I have put the keyboard and mouse and remote right next to...

If you are running an 802.11b/g wireless network, you have no worries either as these devices run on a totally different frequency band.
The keyboard is solid and easy to use, with some nice one-touch buttons that, sadly, don't seem to be customizable.
The wireless optical scrolling mouse, although functional, is a little small for my tastes. You may run into problems getting the mouse to work but, once you fix that issue (by using a pen or paper clip to synchronize the channels on the transmitter and the mouse) it is a nice item. To save battery power, the mouse will go to sleep/power-off when you're not using it, so I typically just roll the wheel or move it around to "wake it up".
The communicator remote is a really nice bonus as it is an almost seamlessly integrated product with Microsoft PowerPoint, and is a great little tool for doing a presentation. For the money, this is an excellent product to have, even with it's little imperfections.

The only reason i bought two of these is because of the great range. I thought it would be the perfect solution in a large presentation room.

But guess what, every time I reboot the PC the USB Antenna some how loses sync with the keyboard, mouse and remote. Every time. I have replaced the batteries, I have put the keyboard and mouse and remote right next to the antenna during boot up, and still nothing. I have to keep a paper clip next to the PC to re-sync all three devices. I have tried the other USB Ports on the computer to see if that can make a difference, but nope. It's still the same.

Oh it's not just this one. I have another presentation room on the other side of the building, and it does the same thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars None better., February 29, 2008

I have sold, installed and trained users on how to use almost 100 of these. For every technical device you purchase there is a proper way to use it. Learn how and you will enjoy it. The issue with the batteries mentioned by another user never happened to me, the problem with the USB loosing sync also must be a user error of some kind (I can think of a few) and the problem with the typing mentioned by another user has to do with the mouse and keyboard using the same or too close apart channel or interference of some kind. Wireless signal bounces like sound depending on what is interfering with it, use an extension (usb pigtail)to reposition the receiver and it will never fail. I install these in Dental offices and 95% of users are women, and they do complain if something is not working perfectly. Plus, I would be getting phone calls all the time about it.
I haven't had 1 fail on me ever.
It almost sounds like I am getting paid to write this. I am a trainer of technologies and I can't stand when someone complains about a product and the problem is lack of knowledge.
Good day.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not too good, July 10, 2006

I use the mouse and keyboard less than 8 feet from the CPU. The mouse batteries wear out quickly. I had to replace the batteries after only about 10 days of use, and I only used it about 1 hour per day. I've also had to replace the keyboard batteries after less than 2 weeks of use. The keyboard loses communication with the computer occasionally. The only way to resync it is to remove the keyboard's batteries, wait a minute, and then reinstall the batteries. Only about 90 percent of your key presses are recognized, so you'll spend a lot of time using backspace to reenter lost characters. There is a slight delay between keyboard and computer too. Given those problems, when it works it works pretty well, but can be really frustrating, especially when you remember that you dropped almost $80 for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Wireless kit, impressive 30' range, February 10, 2005

I recently bought this product to hook it up with my computer. I have a 42" TV and a 802.11g network at home. I connect the laptop display to the TV and do my work from the sofa! The USB dongle kicks in as soon as I plug it in! There were times when I had to re-tune the keyboard+mouse+dongle, but other than that it works very seamlessly. Keys are quiet, mouse is tiny and gives good battery life.

Most amazing feature I liked is the 'Industry Strength' range you can get for the money on this. Other kits selling in the market for this price do not offer more than 5-6 ft, but this one gives a huge 30' radius. I sit about 15' from the transmitter, and never had a missed key stroke/click.
