The Snom M3 is the premier DECT SIP phone on the market as far as i'm concerned. I've had the privilege to play with some of these at work. Although we decided not to offer the phone as part of our FreedomIQ product line (www.freedomiq.com) we will recommend the phone to customers who insist on a reliable DECT solution for their FreedomIQ service. The base unit connects via RJ45 and a power adapter. The phone sits on it's own charger that can be anywhere within 50 meters indoors or 300 meters outdoors may be expanded considerably by up to six DECT repeaters. You can also connect up to 8 handsets to one base station. The sound quality is warm and full, much better than that of PSTN/standard telephone quality in most cases. A highly recommended phone!

The phone is very easy to set up and functions well. It is clearly the best of breed for wireless SIP phones.

Two pretty significant quibbles:

1. The build quality isn't anywhere close to what it ought to be for the price. SNOM has to be able to do better.
2. The user interface, and especially the placement of the buttons on the front, is terrible. It's very easy to hit the wrong button (including the hangup button).

Excellent, I had previous WIFI VOIP phones: 2 major problems, battery charge and signal quality, which is quite variable over wifi. This solves the problem since the phone component functions like a cordless phone with DECT technology. The wifi is great, web based. allows 8 SIP settings, easy to configure. i got this because I could not wait for the Siemens S450 IP which may not even be released in the US.

I will deal with the negatives
1. I wish it could interface with outlook. the other snoms have callerID popups from outlook contacts, not the M3. the M3 needs an archaic CSV file upload that wipes out the current directory
2. I wish the screen could be more customizable. the clockface is ok but I would rather have a picture or the weather, etc
3. I wish the base station would have an outgoing RJ-11 port. I could easily use one of my VOIP numbers as a fax number and have it output to my fax machine. at present, I can use my callcentric number to receive a fax, but cannot send a fax using my VOIP.
