Worth every penny,

This item was a "gold box" impulse buy that I've never had to regret. As with other OXO products, the innovation and overall quality are excellent. Yes, this spinner is a few more dollars than other similar products. But the difference is money well spent. The ridgid plastic construction is much more substantial than a typical flimsy spinner, which helps reduce wobble as it spins. Since the clear bowl is not perforated, it offers the ability to soak your salad greens to clean and crispen them up a bit if they are becoming wilted. It also works well to serve the salad at the table or to save it in the refridgerator if you have enough space. Personally, I usually just dump the leftovers into a large zip-lock bag. This will keep them fresh for several days.

Lettuce alone!,

This is a great unit for washing salad. If you don't like soppy wet leaves resisting the coating of dressing, then you can wave your washed lettuce in a French collapsing basket dramatically on your deck (habit of a very nice friend of mine from France) or you can use this salad spinner.
This spinner is attractive, the knob is easy to manipulate and the bowl works as storage. It is a lot better than others I've used and really essential to our salad-o-mania at home. Dinner is frequently grilled something or tuna-from-the-can and salad, so we put this through its paces. I recommend it to anyone who likes romaine lettuce or Boston lettuce, or red-leaf. These need washing like mad, and the spinner dries them afterwards easily. Great item, and pretty as well.

Best salad spinner I've used.,

First of all, this thing looks and feels nice -- durable and clean. It also works fine for washing lettuce. It's also a great salad dryer -- no cranking, just pump the black handle and it spins really fast. My favorite part, however, is that you can store lettuce in it and the leaves stay crisp and fresh! I've never been able to keep lettuce for this long before -- I like red leaf lettuce, which is particularly prone to bruising and going bad, but it stays good for over a week in this salad spinner.
I have one caveat: it's a large container, so you'll need a lot of space in the fridge. Also, if you try to pack too much lettuce into it, it will bruise and trap moisture, and therefore not work as well. But all in all it's my new favorite kitchen toy.

Amazon should update this product listing,

I bought this Softworks spinner because my OXO Good Grips model developed cracks in the bowl and I thought I would give another manufacturer a try.
Turns out Softworks is just another line of OXO spinners. OXO is the first thing you see when you open the box, right on top. It is slightly larger than the Good Grips model, and none of the parts are interchangeable. It seems to work well enough, after only a few uses. We'll see how it holds up!

SoftWorks Salad Spinner - Nice Product,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: SoftWorks Salad Spinner (Kitchen)
The SoftWorks Salad Spinner is a nice product that works as advertised. The size is large enough to wash a full chopped head of romaine lettuce. The product seems identical to me to the OXO salad spinner I have seen in stores with a solid white top, and they may in fact be the same product. The Oxo Good Grips Salad Spinner appears to be the same as well, except for product pictures showing a clear top.
I have used this product for more than a year and I'm very happy with it. The large button in the center is spring loaded and when you press it, will rise. After putting your salad into the strainer basket inside, close the top and depress the large button. The basket will spin and the water will come out of the salad into the clear bowl. Use the small button on the side to slow down the spinning basket before opening. It's that simple. I find that rinsing my salad and greens several times between spinnings seems to get them the cleanest. It's always best to rinse and spin as close to serving time as possible so that your salad stays nice and crisp. I can't help but feel that the price is rather high for such a product, but this was one of the more affordable alternatives I found. So until a less expensive alternative emerges, this looks like one of the better alternatives. Avoid the temptation to use the clear bowl as a salad serving bowl. The insides seem to scratch rather easily and may be harder to clean when scratched. Enjoy.

Great product but doesn't last forever,

I am online to buy my THIRD OXO salad spinner. It's the BEST for getting lettuce really clean and really dry (so dressing will stick). But I use it 4-5 times a week, and the spinner mechanism doesn't hold up as well as I'd hope. Nevertheless, I can't live without it, so excuse me while I go purchase another...

WHAT A BUY!,

This thing is a life saver. Great design, easy to use, good price. There are many salad spinners in this world that you can buy for 10 or 12 dollars, but they are nothing like this. This is a wonderful product from a reliable company. This would make a great birthday or bridal shower gift for someone that likes to cook and likes to eat healthy!

This is a great kitchen tool. It makes cleaning lettuce, spinach, etc. very easy. I have had a spinner for several years and bought one for my mom. She enjoys it also.

With the salad spinner, I find making salads are easier and faster. I usually like to start making a salad several hours in advance, so that I can make sure the leaves are completely dry.
I don't like wet leaves in my salad. The dressings does not sitck as well to the leaves and I have to use more dressing to a get a good flavor. While this doens't make them totally dry, it is the best solution thus far for me. Now I don't have to dry each leaf individually or wait several hours while the leaves drain and chill.

I recently purchased this salad spinner, have used it a few times and am very happy with it. It's easy to use, interior spinning unit doubles as a colander and exterior bowl is elegant enough to serve your salad in. Have washed it on the top rack of my dish washer with no problems. Would purchase it again.
