While I have yet to test it, this little number is impressive.
It has a well constructed brace to reinforce the axehead, and looks to be a secure handle w/ torx type machined screws holding both head & handle together.
I'm not sure how well the polymer handle would hold up in extreme cold conditions, but if SOG is still anything like they used to be it should be a pretty durable little tool.
The pick end could easily defeat standard auto glass in an emergency, and as long as the handle held up, or the vibration of the handle wasn't unbearable, I'm sure the axe side could cut through the thin sheet metal of most modern vehicles. (I definitely wouldn't go toting it around outside of work, or the toolbox in my trunk though, as I wouldn't want to risk being charged with a weapon by an overzealous cop.)
Definitely not a toy, and hopefully I never have cause to use it, but glad I have the option.
