The SE37-N SEAL Team Elite fixed blade knife from SOG Specialty Knives & Tools (model SE37-N) is complemented by a black tactical nylon sheath. All SOG products are guaranteed against defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the original purchaser.

Caring for Your Fixed Blade Knife

Keeping your knife clean, dry, oiled and sharp are the primary defenses against corrosion, wear, and potential injury. Be sure to clean the blade and handle after each use--however, do not soak your knife in water. A mild solution of soap and water should remove any dirt and debris that may have accumulated during use (avoid harsh detergents such as laundry or dish soap, and chlorine products).

After cleaning or after exposure to moisture be sure to completely dry your knife blade and handle, taking special care with any sensitive handle materials. Use a soft cotton cloth or chamois and a small amount of moisture-displacing oil (such as WD-40 or 3-in-1), on the blade only, to prevent water spots and oxidation from forming. Fingerprints and weather are the primary causes of rusting or corrosion on a knife blade. To keep your knife looking its best, SOG recommends that you give your blade a light coat of oil after each cleaning, and prior to long term storage.

The SOG Seal Team Elite was my first SOG knife and In 1 day SOG had completely earned my trust and respect as a top knife company.

Pros:
The sheath is the best on the market, I don't know why anyone would want the more expensive kydex sheath, its not as good and is not MOLLE ready. many people have said it is "triple stitched" but it is actually double stitched and riveted, it's all you need
Titanium Nitride (TiNi) coating makes the stainless steel even more waterproof
Extreme heat treatment for the blade
Pocket on the sheath for a firesteel/multi-tool
Exposed tang at the bottom of the blade that makes a useful strike for firesteels or hammer
Ribbed back useful for notching
Ribbed back bites into thumbs well and makes great jimping
Ultra durable Zytel handle
MOLLE straps on the back of the sheath
Extremely large cutting surface
Sharp serrations that cut with ease
Weighted perfectly

Cons:
Price, this knife was nearly 2x more expensive than my Kabar
The serrations are a little long
The handle is rough on your hands for normal people, but I love the extra traction

Although I don't know how durable this knife is, I can say that this is a great knife and I'd gladly take it with me to all corners of the earth.

This is an excellent knife. It is great for hunting and camping, I carry it everyday. I chose this knife over the Seal Pup because I like a little extra length ans this has the extended tang. I first used this knife to cut up a roadkill deer for bobcat bait and the edge is still perfect. Very tough edge, you can skin and elk and it'll still be sharp enough to cape out it's head. The ONLY thing I didn't like is the sheath, it's a good sheath but it takes a little super glue to keep it from fraying in certain spots. Great knife for a variety of uses, especially for the price!

Can't say anything bad about this knife its rugged, through tang, comfortable composite handle places your hand where it needs to be. It lives up to the SOG reputation. One thing to note, even though the sheath has a spot for a sharpening stone there is none.

Very good knife...AUS8 is a good steel choice, if it were offored in standard (non-serated) edge I would have given 5 stars. the Ti coating actualy lasts. good handle length, the nylon sheath is great (except for the velcro retaining strap).....its a SOG, what more do you need to know!

I bought this knife for a Alaska back country camping trip as a survival gear. Here are the pros and cons after I used it in the back country for a month.

Pros:
(1)Out of box sharp
(2)Reliable. It's heavy and well balanced. Nobody want to carry extra weight in a prolonged camping trip. So I carry only one survival knife. This is it.
(3)Though its significant length, due to its stealth design, it's not very "flashy".
(4)its nylon sheath is well thought out actually. I was able to carry this knife on my backpack, on my belt, or attached to my jacket.

Now the cons:
(1)Heavy and long. It's good to have a heavy and extra long blade when you use it. It's a burden to carry, if it is in the sheath.
(2)My biggest complaint is that it can't hold an edge too well. After minimum use, it already lost its factory sharpness. And I do mean "minimum" -- just by slicing copy paper, packaging plastic, cardboard, or those common household soft materials. It's still sharp, just not as sharp as its factory sharp.

Overall, despite its less than ideal edge holding capability, it's still my go-to knife when it comes to back country survival. Hence the four star rating.

I've used tons of knives, this one being the best. I tried a ka-bar because of its reputation, but i was dissapointed. It covered with deep rust after one major use. This one i've had for years... I got it before it came out because of a packing mishap. I've directly struck a rock as hard as i could... No damage. You won't be dissapointed and it will last a very long time. tip breaking strength and edge retention are amazing. Great nylon sheath aswell, includes sharpener pouch too.

Specs:
7 inch blade by .24 thick
12 inches overall
AUS 8 steel
Zytel handle
HRC 58
Weighs 10 ounces
Extended tang in back for hammering or glass breaking
