S.A.T. knives offer security and peace of mind with their locking mechanisms that are stronger, more reliable, and easier to access than other knives'. For Trident Series knives, this means the blade is held in place with a reliable piston lock that can be quickly released with a sliding button. An additional safety lock offers extra security when the blade is closed, and for easy reference, the lock switch shows red when the knife is ready to be opened.
Cryogenic Heat Treatment Guarantees a Sharp, Durable Blade
The TF-3 offers a full, 3.75-inch, AUS8 stainless steel blade that has undergone SOG's patented Cryogenic Heat Treatment process, which ensures that this blade will stay sharp over the long haul. This intensive process takes more than 48 hours and involves slowly reducing the blade's temperature to less than -300 degrees Fahrenheit, then slowly heating the blade to room temperature. The stress created by this process strengthens the steel on an atomic level and increases the blade's overall durability and edge retention.
In addition to having undergone the Cryogenic Heat Treatment Process, this knife is treated with a tiger-stripe coating that provides reduced reflectivity and added camouflage.
Ergonomic, Lightweight Design Ensures Comfortable Use
Even if your blade is sharp, it's hard to make precise cuts if your knife doesn't fit comfortably in your hand. That's why this knife's handle is ergonomically contoured. Crafted from tough, glass-reinforced Zytel, the handle is well-balanced and features SOG's unique Digi-Grip texturing, a feature that gives you gripping power where you need it most. Additionally, the grooved handle allows you to cut heavy cord and cable without having to open the blade.
At just 3.6 ounces, this folding knife is lightweight and easy to carry. A reversible, bayonet-mounted clip extends from the back of the handle, allowing the knife to sit low in your pocket for the most discreet carry possible. The removable clip is easily switched for right/left hand-carry.
This knife is backed by a lifetime warranty that protects against defects in manufacturing and materials.

Check-out this mother#*@%in' knife,
This review is from: SOG Specialty Knives & Tools 1/2 Serrated Tiger Stripe TF-3 Trident (Tools & Home Improvement)
Man I don't know squat about knives and I bought this one because of a review I saw in the NRA's Rifleman magazine but let me tell you the Sog TF-3 (1/2 serr Tigerstripe) asst opener
is one COOL knife! Before buying though I checked out SOG's web site and was convinced to buy it, $66.00 no shipping costs. When I got it it was just way cool right out of the box and performed just as advertised, just a flick of the wrist and that blade comes zippin' out just as smooth as can be and locks up like a mother...I guess it could be pretty practical if you were a hunter and were gonna skin some small game because it's surgical sharp and has an excellent grip, and it looks cool too. For a quality folder I'm gonna guess this one must be amongst the better, reasonably priced, offerings on the market but who knows. What does seem to be the case is SOG is an excellent manufacturer of very good quality knives and definitely has its act together when it comes to design. So if your in the market for this type of knive you should it least check this one out for comparisons sake, but if you decide to buy it you probably will not be disappointed.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is perhaps the finest pocket knife I have ever owned. It opens up with a very positive feel and does not stall half way deployed. The SEAL style line cutter in the handle is a very handy item as well. It looks good and has a nice balance and feel to it. I can't imagine what more a someone could ask for in an edged weapon like this. The blade is razor sharp and nicely shaped. I don't use the pocket clip but is a nice feature, especially for those who work in uniform. The blade lock works well and is in a good location. My first one was a gift from my son while he was at BUD/s. Excellent product. Worth the money.
