Customer Reviews

Amazing quality and they arent over priced like beats. and the bass on these things is ridiculous!!

I also really like how all of the components separate, so that if I break the cord or headband I can easily replace them.

I have done my research on headphones and these are by far the most durable and best sounding ones.

Ok, so I'll admit it... I never looked at SOL Republic until I saw Michael Phelps wearing them at the Olympics. Realizing that it was a sponsorship thing, I was intrigued, but skeptical. Michael has repeatedly said that music was a pretty important part of his pre-race routine, so I figured, at the very least, these would have to be half-decent cans (yes, very circumstantial/anecdotal evidence, I know). Oh, and THEN he broke out the Deadmau5 edition!

Right, so, you get the idea. I liked the style, so I started reading reviews. The general consensus was that these were every bit as good as Beats, but at half the price. Now, I already have Audio Technica ATH-M50's (over the ear) and ATH-CKM55's (buds), and frankly, I am a big AT fan. They sneak in with great sound and they don't have the "Bose tax" (or substitute your favorite SOMETIMES overpriced brand here). Well, at least they did when I bought them. I think a lot of people have started catching on to just how good AT equipment can be.

Anyway, I have been very pleased with my existing combo, but I wanted to add something to the collection that brought something a bit different. These are just that, different, in a good way. Yes, they are full of bass and the highs are muddy. If you want a set of "hear everything" or reference headphones, go elsewhere. These are a tough set of "just-have-some-great-bass-fun" cans. They are well-constructed and sound exactly as you would expect for headphones going up against Beats. I don't know if they have any burn-in period, so I'll post back if anything changes that much.

Bottom line...I'm very pleased with the Tracks HD. They fit in nicely with my other cans/buds. Add to that the fact that these are the special edition Deadmau5 headphones, well you either love 'em or hate 'em, and I love 'em. Yes, they are orange and yellow, and yes... they rock. :-)

We LOVE Sol Republic headphones! We have purchased these for our two sons and one for my husband. The sound is AWESOME and they are very sturdy. We love knowing that we can replace a part on the headphones is something goes wrong or breaks. The price is good and it is good to know that we can replace single parts instead of having to replace the entire product if something goes wrong. Highly recommend.

I own quite a few pairs of headphones, Bose, Bowers & Wilkins, Audio Technica, and these hold their own with them at less than half the price. I have listened to Beats several times and absolutely hate the sound of them, so I wasn't sure how much I would like another "pop-styled" headphone but these are great. The lows are fantastic, and the highs are crisp. The mid range can sound a little muddy at first, but after I broke them in it brightened up too. These ones are the Deadmau5 edition, so yes they are loud looking, but I think they look great and are a unique pair of headphones!

I bought a set of these for my high school freshman boy, who seems to live with headphones on.

Last year, he just HAD to have a pair of Beats ear buds, so I broke down and bought them for him. The reviews were right, they were junk and broke quickly. The replacements lasted a little longer, but not much. I'm w-a-y done with Beats anything. The over the ear ones I listened to weren't all that impressive.

Once the earbuds were kaput, he ended up borrowing my Senheiser PXC 450 cans. I wasn't real thrilled about him subjecting my $350 'phones to the abuses a young lad inflicts on stuff, so I bought him a set of Philips O'Neill SHO9560/28 Over-Ear Headphones - Black Bordeaux cans for $35. They are rugged and sound OK. Far better than their price would indicate, and I convinced him they were pretty close to Beats. Actually, they aren't all that much less good, and for 10% of the price, I was happy, and so was he.

I though the whole sound of the Philips was a a bit muddy, and the highs were thin and seemed muffled (at least compared to my Senheisers and Bose QC2). After hearing a pair of these SOL Republic deadmau5 at an Apple store, I was really impressed. They give the big bass that kids like for younger music, and I admit I kind of like, too. It is clean and clear, and seems more detailed than the Beats, and as good as the Senheisers but stronger. The mid range and highs were the surprise. They are clear, defined, transparent and very listenable. They are at least within striking distance of the Senheisers, and maybe a bit better than the Bose. Of course, the SOL are not noise canceling, so providing a good sound image is easier than when the NC electronics is involved.

The kid likes the sound of the deadmau5s better than the Philips (I'd sure hope so!

I'm a big Phelps' fan and I love music. And we all know that your music is only as good as your cans. So when I was shopping around for headphones, I figured if it was good enough for Phelps, it was good enough for me :D

I did read a bunch of reviews online first. They seemed pretty decent on paper, so I ordered these. I don't even know who deadmau5 is but the design was really colourful and unique and I couldn't imagine buying a plain band.

The sound is great, feels like a party in my head :). I'm Nigerian and our music has lots of bass, so these come through beautifully. Scary thing is that the sound can get really loud without you feeling that it's loud, so you need to be careful and resist the temptation to ramp it up because it doesn't hurt.

I've seen tweets from people complaining about the cushioning on the earpieces, so you should be careful with yours. They do wonders for comfort, I could wear the headphones forever.

Plus, they make a pretty nifty fashion statement. Can't over-emphasize that. Everyone notices. Many strangers actually comment on 'em.
