I have never heard bass, inside of an in-ear headphone set , like this before! it's awesome. amazing.

I think that's because i refused to pay $200-300 for the Pro series that Bose and a few other manufacturers make

I am kind of interested in the $99 SOL Republic Amps Pro. when I ordered these? I would not have believed , myself willing to pay $100 for a pair of in-ear headphones.

I bought these at a big box retailer on the salesman's recommendation just over a year ago. They proved to have excellent sound (I'm not an audiophile but have slightly discerning taste when it comes to headphones), be extremely comfortable (I wore them for hours and hours in my woodshop and never had pain or fatigue) and they also did a great job at blocking out very loud ambient noise (see aforementioned woodshop.) I abused them pretty hard, subjecting them to sawdust and sweat, pulling them out of my phone or ears quite hard from assorted snags and catches, and even putting them through the wash once. I never did any visible physical damage to them though- but after about a year they started to fail. The sound would get tinny and eventually cut out altogether. I finally decided to contact Sol Republic about a possible replacement (with pretty low expectations, seeing as I was two months out of warranty and had abused these guys pretty badly), but they surprised and delighted me by immediately shipping a full replacement set of earbuds.
BUT THEN: I just recently moved to NYC and live in a fairly large apartment complex in a slightly bad part of town. When Fed-Ex delivered my package, I was not home and someone else in my complex signed for the earbuds. I called both FedEx and Sol Republic, and both companies were extremely helpful. I'm still not quite sure how it came to be this way, but eventually Fed Ex informed me that my neighbors were in possession of my package. I spoke with neighbors after getting home from the holidays yesterday, and (having never met them), they said they had "given the package to some black guy." I called Fed Ex again, angry at them for having left the package with neighbors when I had given them no authorization to do so.

I'm pretty impressed with these head phones. The sound is much better than the skull candy ones that i have and I really like the feeling of them in my ear. The most impressive thing is that I accidentally put them through the washing machine with my clothes... and they still work, and without reduced performance. I'm notoriously rough with my earbuds. I just broke the connector to my skull candy ones. Am really impressed that these have a right angle connector to prevent this.
The only thing I wish they had done differently is that sometimes the microphone is to far from my mouth when i'm on the phone and people can't hear me. (10% of the time) If I could give one bit of advice, it's just this minor detail, otherwise they're perfect and Durable too!

Of my limited experience with earbuds, these definitely provide the best sound. Clear bass presence without sacrificing definition in the mids and highs (i.e. good thump without the muffle). They really do isolate the sound for you. I've had people stop in my office and repeat my name awkwardly for a good minute before I happened to turn around for some other reason and notice them.

Two downsides. First, they are quite bulky-looking. The large protruding round part really sticks off the side of your head and probably looks funnier than I even think it does in my mind. Second, these are apparently NOT to be used for cardio activity (running, biking, etc.). After a certain amount of workout time sweat starts to follow down the cord and gets into the little controller, which for me apparently short-circuits it in a way that puts it into forced fast-forward, making it unusable until well after the end of the run/workout.

Bottom line, great for the plane and the office, but don't get them for exercise.

These are the only headphones that will stay in my ears when I'm running ... unlike a certain other trendy brand which seem repelled by my ears (hint, this Bud's not for me). For this and the very solid sound quality, I give SOL Republic an A!

These headphones are amazing for the price, I've owned some of the Tracks HD, Amps HD, and purchased 3 of the regular Amps for my family, I am extremely pleased with the sound quality, the highs and lows.

I love teaching people and my family about all of the sounds you don't get to hear with regular headphones that you can hear with these, it's astounding.
