I already owned a set of the Sonic Impact i-F2 speakers when they became inoperable through no fault of the manufacturer, so, I...Read more bought this while waiting to send the i-F2's for repair. Therefore, I can give you my opinion, for what it's worth on both.
The i-F3's sound about 50% better than the i-F2's to me and I was well-pleased with them. The base is far richer due the difference in the placement of the ducted ports, and the drivers appear to be larger, but I can't tell for sure looking through the grill. The volume is better and the fidelity better at higher volume. I had read some reviews in audio magazines that were somewhat critical of the styling, which I do not find objectionable, but, to me, the sound is of paramount interest.
Even if the FM radio is unimportant to you, the reception of which is quite good and gets better with the use of the included antenna, I would pay the extra money just for the improvement in sound. The remote is much improved and more reliable also. I see no downside to this unit over the i-F2. Great job, Sonic Impact.

I bought it for use in my medical office with my iPod Classic. I can carry it from room to room without need for AC power. The battery is long lived. The sound is very rich for such a compact design - but as you'd expect with small speakers, the low end bass is lacking. It is loud enough to blow you out of any room in the house. I don't use the remote. It would be nice if you could store the AC adapter in the case. I've had no problems. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat!


I have 5 iPods of various types, 2nd generation Nano, 3rd gereration Nano, 20 gig classic, 30 gig classic, 30 gig video, this system works fantastically with all of these. The sound quality is truly unbelievable! My musician son really loves the quality. If you have the newer iPods you will find that you can store two of them in the hidden storage compartment. When charged it will play all day without a charge. I also have other iPod speaker systems, this one really out performs all of them hands down. This is really the one to invest in. ENJOY! I do.

When I first received these speakers I thought they weren't working right, but after someone else got a hold of them we found out I was not pushing the iPod onto the docking station hard enough. The speakers do get to a decent loud volume with no distortion. You could definitely use this outside or places with background noises.

The cool thing that I really like about them, that none of the pictures show is the section between the speakers with the digital face opens up to store your iPod, and it comes with various attachments to make sure your iPod doesn't slide around inside there.

The only con I can see is there isn't a lock to prevent the top from being knocked over and coming down onto the iPod, but that is definitely not a reason to prevent you from buying these great speakers... unless you have young children that might be around to run into it.

I have been super happy with the iF3 system. Its simple to use, sounds great and travels well. A great compliment to my home sound system.

This is one of the best purchases I have made on Amazon. We had i-F2. We liked it. Now we got this i-F3. It is even better. 5 stars!

Excellent choice to hear your Ipod. You can hear your ipod about 6-8 hrs of continue music, first your Ipod Battery will dead before the Sonic Impact Battery do it.

I use this product for business and personal applications. They provide great speakers for my computer for large meetings. It is also wonderful to have my Ipod music and recharging in my hotel room. The hard shell helps protect the unit in travel.
