Great Television,
By Andrew C Smith (Flagstaff, Arizona United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SONY KP-57WV600 57" 16:9 HDTV Projection Television (Electronics)
I recently bought the Sony KP-57" HDTV projection television and I have found that every component of this television is top quality. I especially enjoy the split screen abilities that allow me to watch more than one program at one time while also being able to adjust the size of either program I am watching. The interface is splendid and I couldnt have purchased a better machine. When used with digital television or with an HDTV converter connected, the picture quality is second to none. If you are going to buy a quality television, I suggest that you buy this particular product.

I shopped around for weeks looking for the right Rear Projection HDTV over 53 inches. This Tv has met all my expectations and has once again stood as a solid reminder of Sony's ability to make a great product. No Buyer's Remorse!

Great TV,
This review is from: SONY KP-57WV600 57" 16:9 HDTV Projection Television (Electronics)
After having this HDTV for a couple of years now, I'd like to say that it's easily one of the best projection HDTV's out there. The image comes through very clear, and I haven't had any problems with it. Sony's website also has some very good, detailed information on it, including the manual.
But one thing I wanted to comment on is that one of the users said that you can't access the convergence settings. I don't quite know what he's talking about. Right in the contents on the front of the instruction booklet, it says "Adjusting the Convergence Manually", and tells specifically how to do it when you go to the page on it (45-46 in the book). Therefore you can either set the convergence automatically using Flash Focus, or set it yourself, so you should never have to have a technician come unless something really out of hand happens. I've checked it out myself and it's very easy to use, too. This TV has also sat in the same spot the entire time I've had it, and I've never seen dust inside the TV like the other user had mentioned, or on the outside on the screen itself for that matter. It is very good at NOT collecting dust from what I've seen. Overall I can't say anything bad about this TV. The model itself looks great, and it has a very solid picture, excellent speakers, and tons of great options(Far too many to list. This is when you'd want to visit Sony's site). So I give it 5 stars.

I have had this TV since 2004 and it is great, reliable, and the picture is pristine, the sound is second to none. I wish I could buy another one for my house in Florida however, they are hard to find. -Larry Schmekel, Warner Robins AFB, Ga.

My husband bought this TV for our "movie room". The kids love it. The picture is clear and crisp and the sound quality is awesome. The speakers are built into the system (which is nice if you have limited for space). Great TV, I LOVE IT! MILO

Design Flaw,
By A Customer
This review is from: SONY KP-57WV600 57" 16:9 HDTV Projection Television (Electronics)
Our SONY KP-57WV600 is either defective or poorly designed. After a year of owning this televsion there are large streaks and circular areas of dust caught under the screen. The TV has not been exposed to large amounts of dust and the room it is placed in is immaculent. Even if I was a bad housekeeper it should not be covered with dust residue. Have had repair person out twice and not even he knows what to do. Finally the company that I bought it from has it at "the shop." Even if they are able to remove the dust is there going to be a guarantee that they have stopped the problem? I believe this is a design flaw and do not recommend this TV to anyone.

sony doesn't allow consumers to access the convergence settings. It costs almost 200$ every time for a technician to come and do it. FLASH FOCUS ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH. STAY AWAY! |
