good player,

This review is from: SONY Portable AM/FM Cassette Player (WM-FX241) (Electronics)
this tape player is pretty good. It has lots of features and an anti-roll thing for action or bumpy rides. I dont know why it has this metal tape thing, they are not around anymore, in fact, they havent been around for at least 10 years. Lots of presets and digital tuning eliminates the guesswork of manual dial tuning.Battery low light is a good feature, as opposed to the LED lights on others that are useless. ....This is one of the more high-end recorders, i would reccomend this for an all-around purpose cassette player. Worthy of a buy. Ratings: Radio Recpetion...9/10 Tape quality... 10/10 Ease of use...9/10 Overall...9.5/10

How I go through a million batteries,
By "samitch" (San Jose, CA United States) - See all my reviews

Buy this walkman and you will find out...the buttons to turn the radio on are on the front. If you throw the walkman in a book bag or purse or wherever, the buttons are sensitive enough to turn the radio on without you knowing. So, you go through a million gazillion batteries. Another feature that is missing and can't figure out why it isn't included is continuous tape playing. Once the tape is over on side 1, it doesn't flip over to side two. If you are walking and listening to a tape, then you have to pull it out of the belt clip holder, flip over the tape and continue listening. I usually love Sony products, but this is one of the blunders they have made.

This Sony Walkman WM-FX241 has digital tuning with 40 digital station presets (10AM/30FM). Other features include direct band selector, auto scan tuning preset. A word to the wise, it has up to 25 Hours* of battery life. Takes 2 AA batteries.

nice player stupid carry case,

This review is from: SONY Portable AM/FM Cassette Player (WM-FX241) (Electronics)
a very good player, tape player works very well, as does the digital tuning. Has plenty of presets and the mega bass and hold button work very well. The buttons around the screen to preset radio stations are to fiddly and should have a auto-reverse function. The major problem over all others is the case that comes with it, it has the clip on it and has to be removed to change the tape. a good player for the price.

No DC electrical adapter,

This review is from: SONY Portable AM/FM Cassette Player (WM-FX241) (Electronics)
I bought one of these, along with a Sony power adapter that said you could use it to plug your Walkman into your car's electrical power. It turned out that Sony's latest Walkman units HAVE NO JACK for the electrical adapter! I want a player strictly for use in the car (to plug into the Aux input in the car's stereo system), and I don't want to worry about carrying batteries.Fortunately, the store let me return the player & the adapter. |
