Yes, because too many like yourself object to paying Sony more than a hundred dollars for a USB adapter their players find compatible.
The device is a "workaround" WiFi /Ethernet bridge plugged into the CAT5 network port spoofing the player into believing its connecting over an old fashioned cable and doesn't try denying or approving the connection.
No hacking or weirdo LINUX stuff is necessary, and it's even a well branded device from a reputable maker.
The NetGear N300, sold for less than forty ducks.

So far, I can't find a complaint about it except the most helpful negative review from someone claiming to be a skilled network engineer but describing why his WPS wizard button won't connect and the community shredded him as harshly as he deserved.
