Part of a series written by multiple Harlequin authors, SOS Marry Me! features a heroine who works for a very successful wedding planning business. When Serena James is flown in a private plane to a convention, bad fuel causes the plane to crash on the trip home. Trapped in the snow with pilot hero Kane Wiley, things get interesting.
There were a lot of good things about this book, but in the end my dislike for the heroine brought the rating down. The scenes of the plane crash were done brilliantly - it really puts the reader into the situation. I loved the entire sequence out in the wilderness, with the time Serena and Kane spend together interesting rather than contrived. Kane was a great hero because he was believable. I could see him as a real man, and so it was so easy to like his character. My biggest problem with this book was that I had trouble warming up to the heroine. She wasn't a particularly likeable person, and while I could understand why she fell in love with Kane, I couldn't really see why Kane fell in love with Serena. I also didn't buy her crazy excuse for why she pretended to still be in a relationship for months and months and months. As if her breaking up with her boyfriend was going to ruin the lives of the women she worked with! I couldn't relate to Serena for many reasons. She was into fancy, over-the-top weddings - I am not. She had a crazy life plan that was structured year by year: one year dating, one year engagement, one year marriage, then baby #1. She was obsessed with finding a father for all the many babies she wanted, rather than a partner in life. I felt sorry for the poor sperm donor she latched herself onto, and didn't think he was at fault for dumping her. The romance should always come first in a ROMANCE BOOK, and not only did I not think it ever was the first priority for Serena, but I don't think her character evolved in the slightest to prioritise romance over her idea of the perfect life with the perfect kids. Because of these things I had a very hard time relating to her. SOS Marry Me! was an enjoyable read, but it was a pity about the heroine.

This was not the best of this wedding planner's series both the dialogue and the characters seemed forced. The plot overused leaving one feeling abandonned, yearning for more.
