This device is for recording phone calls, which can be a great convenience in some circumstances, such a doing interviews over the phone. The product information for this device states that it "records calls with perfect clarity", but this is far from the truth. Actually, like some similar devices I have tried, it records rather poorly. It suffers from the usual problem that while my voice is recorded loud and strong, the voice on the other end of the line (the important one in the phone interviews I conduct) is very weak and faint. There does not seem to be any remedy for this problem when using this device. Also, there is a small LED light on the front of the device which never lights under any circumstance. The instructions don't mention the light or what it's for, so it's a mystery. I have only had the opportunity to try a few devices of this type, all of which suffer from problems similar to this one. I wish I knew of a telephone recording device which actually worked as advertised and did indeed record calls with "perfect clarity".
