5.0 out of 5 stars These are great for my casual shoes!
I use the Spenco Walker/Runner Insoles in tennis shoes. The Cross Trainer isn't quite as thick and fit better in shoes with less room in them. So, I use the Cross Trainer Insoles in my casual shoes and absolutely love them! I currently have a pair of Spenco insoles in four different pairs of shoes. Amazon has the best price I've been able to find.

2.0 out of 5 stars Can't really use them with shoes...
I'm sure these are comfortable, but I can't tell because I can't use them with my shoes. They are just way too thick. I can barely fit my feet and these insoles into the shoe at the same time. It's so tight a fit that it actually makes wearing the shoes more uncomfortable. I seriously fear that my shoes might rip. I realize that they're cross trainer insoles, but they...

5.0 out of 5 stars These are great for my casual shoes!, September 6, 2010

I use the Spenco Walker/Runner Insoles in tennis shoes. The Cross Trainer isn't quite as thick and fit better in shoes with less room in them. So, I use the Cross Trainer Insoles in my casual shoes and absolutely love them! I currently have a pair of Spenco insoles in four different pairs of shoes. Amazon has the best price I've been able to find.

I've had occassional problems over the years with Plantar Faciitis. Each time I've injured a foot, it was because I wasn't wearing one of these insoles and didn't have proper support from the shoes I was wearing. My feet are otherwise fairly normal/healthy.

I have tried other insoles (Super Feet, Dr Scholls and one other sold in brick & mortar shoe stores, can't remember the brand) and like these the best. The Spencos have more padding and just a little more arch support which make them much more comfortable. There are no noise or squeek problems with the Cross Trainer or Walker/Runner versions like have been reported with the Spenco Total Support insoles. I will say that I tried a pair of the Powerstep Pinnacle orthotics after one injury. They were great until my foot healed enough to go back to the Spenco insoles. The Powersteps are the only real orthotic I've ever worn.

One lesson I have learned is that shoes and insoles wear out. Now I replace my insoles every year or so. Doing this helps extend the lifespan of my shoes while providing proper support for my feet.

Highly recommended! I will buy these again!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best, July 15, 2008

Awesome insoles, the best I've ever worn. Others hurt my feet so bad it felt like they were on fire, but I can hike for miles and miles in these. I have a set in my hiking boots, my trail shoes, and my everyday dress shoes these things are so great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good arch and heel support. Experienced some discomfort when worn for a long time, July 19, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I walk, run and play basketball almost daily and figured a product like this could enhance my experience. I purchased two pairs to try. I used one pair on my basketball sneakers and the support made a tangible difference in the stress levels that my feet felt as I played. I also tried a pair in my cross-trainer sneakers. It was uncomfortable wearing them with my cross-trainers. The arch support dug too far into my arch. Probably because the sneakers have built-in arch support and the added support from this was too much. Just for kicks, I also placed them in a pair of casual low-top sneakers and walked in them for a few hours. They felt great in my casual sneakers. I think it's a very good product. Provides good support especially in the heel. Good support on the arch, just be careful about what type of arch support your current shoes offer. If your current shoes already have decent/good arch support, these may be overkill.

2.0 out of 5 stars Can't really use them with shoes..., December 4, 2010

I'm sure these are comfortable, but I can't tell because I can't use them with my shoes. They are just way too thick. I can barely fit my feet and these insoles into the shoe at the same time. It's so tight a fit that it actually makes wearing the shoes more uncomfortable. I seriously fear that my shoes might rip. I realize that they're cross trainer insoles, but they still shouldn't take up this much room in the shoe. I don't know, maybe I have uber thick feet. But I've used insoles before, and although they did make the fit tighter, they were nowhere near as bad as these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best knee savers!, January 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I run about 30 miles a week. I wear Nike trail running shoes and I've had them for about a year. Not wanting to purchase new shoes, I thought I'd just remove the insoles and try these Spenco's. I cannot BELIEVE what a difference they've made! My joints don't ache at all and my lower back never gives me any grief now. The only thing I've changed are the insoles of my shoes...not the terrain I run on, or the speed or my distance so I can only assume my Spenco's are to "blame". :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great once cut to fit and worn in, March 13, 2011
By

I wear size 9.5, and since there are no half-sizes, I ordered these 10-11 inserts. I had to cut the tips off a little to make them fit into my shoe, but that was easy and painless. Just align the insoles to the bottom of the shoes and use any decent scissors to cut the tips to fit the shape and length of shoe.

A few weeks ago, I started walking ~2.7 miles (each way) to and from work. Most of the shoes I own have relatively thin soles, and I needed some extra padding. The front of these insoles were great immediately, but the backs felt a little awkward and put pressure where I was not used to feeling any. Undeterred, I continued wearing them and after the first day, I felt much less awkwardness in my heel. Based on my experience, I would say after the first 5-6 miles of wear, these insoles should be broken in well enough to start providing the amazing comfort that I am experiencing now.

One possible negative side effect of having thicker insoles is your toes being pushed closer to the top of the shoe. Depending on the shoe and the person, this could be a problem. I had to loosen my shoestrings a bit, but my toes are still cramped. The snugness of my toes do not really bother me and barely causes any discomfort after nearly 3 miles. My feet are much happier.

Oh, I suppose I should mention I am using these in sneakers (Converse), not running shoes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Support for your feet, October 5, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My podiatrist recommended these insoles because I have high arches and not much padding under my feet. I walk for exercise and I put the insoles in my walking shoes. I removed the insole in the walking shoe and replaced it with the Spenco insole. The insoles augment the support and cushioning that the walking shoes provide.

I started using spencos after they were recommended to me by my doctor. I was having a great deal of foot pain especially when I got up in the morning. He said try these first and if they didn't work then I would have to get a customized orthodic. It took about 6 weeks for my feet to adjust but they did the trick. I'm glad I found them on amazon since I don't find them locally anymore.I've been using them for 15 years at least. I use them mostly in walking shoes.

5.0 out of 5 stars outstanding, July 22, 2009

I've tried many insole add-ons such as these mostly due to that I'm a big tub of goo and my incredible weight is hard on my feet. This is a top notch product and I can't recommend it more. Cover is very durable and the gel insert is thick enough to make a difference. Not thrilled about the green color but who cares really?
