If you planning on buying this game, it's unsuitable for any audience, especially kids, details shortly. If you own this game, like me, you've likely been ripped off your hard earned money, even it was just 10 bucks in my case. Why:
- Behind the cover of an, admittedly very nice, 3D rendered environment there really is only a 2D side scrolling game with platform jumping and some form of diamond collection, the occasional 'scary skeleton' that needs to be cleaned out of the way. Characters are following a tight path with no freedom other than to move forward - absolutely no camera control, you will sometimes need to guess where to jump next and unless you are into this kind of 'death jumping' you will find this plain frustrating quickly. - platform jumping suffers from moving camera angles, while you are jumping, or between platforms, sometimes requiring 'mid-air' corrections. - the lives of your character are eaten up quicker than you can count to three, simply by slipping of a platform due to a bad control scheme. And in many cases you will have to restart the level. I cannot see this beeing of any enjoyment to a child or adult. - along with some of the above, there are to few save points in the game, and the checkpoints don't make up for it because once you are done with your lives the game (or level) is over - the game suffers under severe frame rate issues, while clearly not using the capabilities of the cube. Bottom line to me: a kids game that was likely developed quickly with a tight budget, like so many thinking it would be good enough for children anyway. Not worth the money, let alone the time wasted trying to play it. Unless someone posts a cheat for unlimited lives I will not finish this game. And even then only because I feel obligated ...

I bought this thinking it would be a cute weekend diversion, and boy was I disappointed. The whole premise behind the game is bad. When I tried to change between characters it was maddening at times. Also, they got stuck in the walls, inevitably meaning reboot. I gave up about 3/4 of the way through and took it back!
I think even a small child's intelligence would be insulted by this one.

After reading all the bad reviews this game had gotten, and even gamepro magazine rated it a 2 out of 10, I decided I had to defend the game. It's true that it's just a simple "side scroller" (or up scroller or down scroller, depending on the level), but the game is very challenging. However, there is a feature that let's you continue on whatever level you left off on, and you get to replay the levels over and over. In some levels there are two or three free men, so you could grab both, and die on purpose, and in this way have as many lives as you need.
I think the best part was that there were two characters, the devil and the witch, each with his and her special abilities. You have to switch between them to accomplish certain tasks. There is one level of the game where you go through alternating corridors of ice and lava. Ice kills the devil, and lava kills the witch, so you have to switch characters in mid jump in order to survive I personally finished the game after several tries. It will be very frustrating at times where you want to throw the controller and scream at the TV, but then you come back and try again. The game can actually be kind of relaxing once you get good at it, like figure skating or cooking.

This is a great game for your kids. However, if your of the legal driving age or older you'll most likely wanna play something more on a Mario Sunshine level for instance. Mario Sunshine which is over a year old by now is great for kids or adults. It has something to offer all ages. This game on the other hand isn't going to appeal to all ages. As a matter of fact, while I was playing it for the first time today, I thought.. gee I could be playing something else. So I rate it 3 stars. Good for the younger gamers.

I played the game several times and had to finally give up on it. My boy, however has been playing it for the last week non-stop. I'll hear him in his room screaming at the screen but he keeps at it. When I tell him that he should put it away and try another game he has, he just looks at me and says, "But i like it."
It may be aggravating to those of us with years of gaming experience, but the younger set seems to like it. I did enjoy it the first two levels, then my patience wore thin. Oh, by the way, the ratings are based on how my son feels. I'd probably give it a two star all way around.

I bought this game for my daughter. It 's a cutesy game. Its alittle limited in the characters actions ie walking to running capabalitly like in other games. This game you walk down a path hitting things with your witchs hat or your pitchfork or hop onto objects at times with help from creatures in the game. Its slightly on the scary side for 5-6 year olds. My daughter likes to be kinda scared so she enjoyed the game. Its cute and fun and makes you ponder of how to get out of certain situations.

This game is not worth the money wasted, it has no camera to know where you are going. Also you go through the same patterns all through the game. It is a game that when you try to get the support it claims for help YOU WILL NOT GET IT. Also I think who ever created this game should stick to coloring books because you sure don't know know anything about making a game. You waste people money and time. Your Spirits & Spells does not have a walkthrough because it a real boring, stupid game. I even had to put a 1 point star to get this in, But my opinion it's a -100.

This game is pretty cool, compared to other games. But the graphics are awesome. If you get touched by an enemy once, you die and go back to the checkpoint. If I were you I,d rent it first, but if not, buy Timesplitters 2 or soul calibur 2 ...
