It is great for going on walks or runs when you don't want to carry anything.

Feels comfortable and honestly, I have forgotten that I am even wearing it when running.

It appears small but it can hold house keys, money, credit cards and a small cell phone.

This belt is great for shorter runs outside or when I am working out and running on the treadmill in the gym and only need my BlackBerry or iPod (I hate using armbands). The belt fits snugly and is easily adjustable, and the small pouch expands nicely and zips to protect the contents. In a race you could easily carry your gel. For travel purposes, this takes up the least amount of space of any of my running accessories. In fact, when not in use, the pouch is so small that when my local running store first showed it to me, I was skeptical that it could hold both my BlackBerry AND its protective case. But then I tried it out in the store and was amazed how roomy this little pouch could be (though of course it is too small for a wallet or sunglasses).

This belt is so lightweight that I soon forget that I am wearing it, so depending on what I am bringing on longer runs, I either use it in addition to my normal Amphipod running waist pack, or else attach my Amphipod rapid access pouch to this belt for additional storage.

One word of caution. The fabric on this pouch is very thin and is not mesh. That means if you sweat, whatever is in the pouch may get sweaty too, so on a really hot and humid day I would use this pouch to carry my gel and electrolyte tablets rather than my BlackBerry or iPod. [But see July 18,2010 update below].

Bottom Line: This is a versatile running accessory and a nice addition to my collection of various running gear. I recommend it.

Update October 10, 2009: Recently I went running in the late afternoon and the sun started going down before I was done. I just took off my sunglasses and easily secured the frame with this belt. My sunglasses stayed nice and snug for the last couple of miles of my run.

I ordered this because of the positive reviews, but am less than impressed. I am relatively new to running/jogging (in the past 3-4 years), and wanted to find a way to carry items when my shorts don't have pockets. This item looked ideal. However, I have a skinny midsection and larger hip area. This belt is stretchy, and when I tried to wear it the way it is depicted on the tag (which is slung WAY low on the hips) it wouldn't stay put and kept inching up higher and higher. It inched up far enough that it wasn't tight anymore and bounced all over. The only way I can wear this and have it stay put is to secure it a little ways below my ribcage, which is not very comfortable. I will continue to give it a try, but very disappointed.

I purchased this to hold my smartphone during my outdoor running sessions. Here are some pros and cons after using this product for a few training runs:

    PROS:
    - Good construction. Buckles, elastic, and stitching are good quality and feel very durable
    - Reflective coating on the pouch and waistband
    - Snug fit keeps items from bouncing during activities
    - Main pouch expands to hold essential items (i.e., keys, ID, smartphone, gels)
    - Reflective coating is grey in normal sunlight

    CONS:
    - Main pouch (in this size) will not fit larger smartphones very well. I am able to fit my Galaxy S3 with a ASLOK bag in the pouch, but it is a VERY tight fit. If you have anything larger than an Iphone, you may have some trouble
    - Main pouch is NOT waterproof. If you plan to carry electronics, be sure to put them in a waterproof bag
    - Reflective coating on pouch seems to "mar" with extreme stretching

    GENERAL OBSERVATIONS:
I used this item for a couple of basic training runs and definitely like the fact that it keeps my phone from bouncing up and down. Also, the 3M reflective coating on the pouch and belt are great features, especially if you plan on doing any of your activities at night. For myself, it's a simple piece-of-mind knowing that I can wear something that makes me more visible, but is not overly obnoxious. Although I can still fit my Galaxy S3 phone in the pouch, getting it in there takes some patience and careful placement as not to over stretch (or even tear) the fabric from attempting to insert such a large phone. Additionally, the pouch is NOT waterproof meaning if you are carrying a smartphone, you will want to keep it in waterproof bag, or keep the back of the phone against your body if your phone has a protective case on it.

This belt is PERFECT for what I was looking for. I needed somewhere to put my phone, keys, cash, and ID while I run. It fits up around my waist (rides up if it is on my hips but I am quite curvy) and doesn't bounce around. It expands to what you have in it. I was even able to squeeze my sunglasses in there. I would definitely recommend this to any runner, hiker, or walker!

My wife and I are casual joggers and like to listen to music while we work out/jog. I had been using my iPod shuffle which I clipped to my shirt and she had been using a regular iPod with an armband. These were fine for listening to music but we still needed to carry our keys/cell phones/etc. in our pockets or our hands. These were sufficient options for us but then we upgraded our phones to the iPhone 4. I initially set out to just find an armband that could fit the iPhone but then I stumbled upon the SPIbelt and figured I'd give it a shot. It turned out to be the perfect solution for us. The iPhone fits perfectly inside, it's easily adjusted and fits very snug to your waist, and it doesn't move or bounce at all. I usually fit the phone and my car key/fob inside with no problems. The material for the pouch is stretchable so you can add odd shaped items with no issues. I tend to sweat alot during a jog and have not noticed any moisture getting into the pouch at all (I wear it over my shorts not against the skin). We have also used it on trips to the amusement park or other long outings with the kids where you don't want to carry any extra bags. I would highly recommend this product to anyone and even purchased a second SPIbelt for my wife.
