5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, but not the full version
Note that this version, while as good as the first, is not suitable for Ph.D. students. It is only for undergraduates and for MBA students. The program is up to its usual excellent standards.

2.0 out of 5 stars STUDENT VERSION LIMITATIONS
Students who are purchasing this product along with the CDROM should be aware that the student version is limited to 1500 cases. This review is from: SPSS 11.0 for Windows Student Version (Paperback)
Students who are purchasing this product along with the CDROM should be aware that the student version is limited to 1500 cases. I recently purchased SPSS 11.0 (student version) and have not been able to use it due to such limitations. It is fine for in class assignments, but does not serve the needs of graduate students who intend to conduct research in excess of 1500 cases. You may want to invest in the non-student version to eliminate the need to purchase two SPSS programs. This limitation should be fully discolsed on the website.

5.0 out of 5 stars SPSS 10.0 for Windows Student Version, June 7, 2000
By A Customer
This book explain in very good way how to use efficiently statistical techniques, stating from description of data, plotting and examining them in order to notmalize them and then help to build the Multiple Regration Model. I used SPSS in my research and it is a very helpfull tool. And I think this book would be interesting for post graduate students and teachers.

There is a clear lack of coordination between the creators of SPSS and Windows. This program does not function well with newer operating systems and will not work at all with Vista. Microsoft should work to build a patch that will allow this and newer versions to run on Vista. Either that or provide a free upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out that may allow the proper communication with older software.

5.0 out of 5 stars SPSS: Opportunity to see statistics in real-life settings, August 3, 2005
This review is from: SPSS 11.0 for Windows Student Version (Paperback)
SPSS allows the researcher to enter and review data on a home computer, thus allowing time and analysis possibly not available with trips to the campus library. Opportunities will continue after your class for entering your own data collection projects.

5.0 out of 5 stars need to upgrade, June 8, 2000
Its a very powerful books but the programs need changes as you all have and old computer cannot use this version. I think spss should think the old model or put the label outside the cds that this programs need a better computer or speed or new monitor.
