From the Back Cover

Pearson’s MySearchLab is the easiest way for students to master a writing or research project.  In a recent student survey, the overwhelming majority of students are assigned writing and research projects, for which they would use research and citation tools if they were available to them.  MySearchLab is a website available at no additional charge in a package with a Pearson textbook and is also available as a standalone product.

This books starts off very basic, such as telling you how to use your mouse, what the desktop looks like, and how to save and open files. It does show the user how to use the program in very detailed, step by step instructions. If you have never used SPSS before, it's a great way to learn. The manual also says that SPSS 17 is only 2% different than SPSS 16, so I wouldn't buy the book if you know how to use the older version.

The CD didn't work. SPSS customer service said I needed the serial number for the software, which wasn't included in what I received from this seller. When I emailed the seller, I was told that I only purchased the CDs, and no additional information.

The book came very quickly and in great condition. I'm always late ordering books for classes, so I was glad for the speedy delivery. The book is definitely not for people who are new to statistics, so having some basic knowledge (or a second text/tutor) is a great option. Lots of pictures included which is helpful since this is a mainly text to picture output program. Very easy-to-read explanations for values. Good book, but definitely not a pleasure read.

This book is great for those who already have some experience with SPSS. I would suggest getting a work book or an advanced student.

This was a required text for a doctoral level statistics class I am taking. Unfortunately, this text is hard to read and the step by step directions do not look anything like what is on the SPSS program. There are better guides out there.
