Square One's built-in router lets you share a single Internet connection with all the computers in your home or small office. You can connect up to four computers to MyServer using the integrated 10/100 Mbps switch. To connect additional clients, just add an external switch or a wireless access point. Square One also acts as a hardware firewall, protecting your network from intrusion by malicious Internet hackers. Network Address Translation (NAT) technology hides your computers from the Internet by assigning them private IP addresses, while Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) blocks illegitimate communications before they ever reach your desktop. Plus, you can set up outbound firewall rules to protect your computer users from accessing dangerous or inappropriate services on the Internet. For advanced users, a special DMZ port lets you run public servers behind the firewall without compromising the security of the rest of the network.
