The devs were making a large DLC for Saints Row 3 and THQ forced them to turn it into a sequel. And now they're trying to rush the release to beat GTA5 to retail. hmmmmm...

colts35 says:
Yea they offered a season pass that cost $30 bucks so we could get all dlc at a savings then they go and say they arent releasing it and it will be a new game. Ofcourse no word on refunding those of us who were suckered with the season pass that gave us two short crappy add ons and a bunch of uninspired clothing and vehicles. Ill pass and wait for GTA5.

Famlygy says:
You do realize that the DLC that is now part of SR IV was never included in the season pass, right? Genkibowl, Trouble With Clones and Gangstas in Space were the only packs listed as discounted by the season pass (and if you do the math, they were).

P. Taegel says:
Yes, Famlygy you are correct. All the DLC promised to be delivered as part of the season pass was delivered. And, if I'm not mistaken, the DLC pass was $20, not 30 (and I'm not mistaken). A simple Google search will support my statements. The whole "Saints Row IV is just a lot of Saints Row 3 DLC" is a rumor that, despite all evidence to the contrary, still persists.

P.Taegel, Saints row 4 is in essence an unrealeased dlc for the third. It was originally going to be "the dominatrix" dlc pack but did get pushed into a whole new game instead. These statements are correct however, it is as you said not just a lot of 3's dlc just the basic premise is.

FALSE. Please check your facts first. SR4 is not just Enter the Dominatrix its still just going to be DLC. SOURCE: http://www.destructoid.com/enter-the-dominatrix-to-be-revived-as-saints-row-iv-dlc-258550.phtml

Lionheart says:
Maybe the confusion arises from the fact that the engine is the same, the plot (apparently) little more than more of the same, with just amped up versions of what we just played through in SR3.

Narusko says:
Yeah, they are releasing enter the dominatrix as dlc for saints row 4, with a little intro as to why the dlc was delayed. (it is explained by the games charcters as to why it was delayed, no idea what is actually in it now though.)

Same engine? Just like the majority of sequels.
Same plot? Not even close.
Yep, it's a sequel, but it actually offers something very different than most sequels. The gameplay is vastly different here due to superpowers.
