These shifters went on my old racing bike after I put on upright bars. They work pretty well with the Shimano 600 7spd derailleurs (parts are circa '91). You can click a little up or down to fine tune or get rid of chain rubbing on the front derailleur. They are a bit bulky but I can live with that. I trimmed down the supplied grips about an inch to better fit my narrow bars. These are good basic shifters.

First of all, don't be confused by the description of "7-speed", it refers to the rear gears. This is the whole set for both front (3-gear) and back. My left grip shifter(SRAM, older model like 10 years old?) broke, so I bought this one to replace it, installation was straight forward after watching one of the online video (just Google it), but I am not sure if I got it right, the issue is, now when I shift to '3' which is the biggest front gear, I have to go a little over the actual '3' mark on the dial... if you know what I mean. I tried to adjust the cable but if I got the gear '3' right, I would be going over the gear '1' ... so I am not sure if this is due to the incomparability with the old front derailleur or what? Anyway, I am not a die-hard mtn biker yet, so this works just fine:)

SRAM makes the best mountain bike shifters; there is no doubt about it. This set is no exception; it shifts flawlessly and nearly effortlessly. In fact, were I to ask for anything, it might be to require slightly more effort to effect a shift. As it is, I can occasionally shift inadvertently. Still, that is more my problem than that of the shifters. Again, this is a great product. Shimano, eat your heart out.

Great shifters for a low buck build or as a replacement. I used them on a Schwinn Ranger wanna-be Mountain bike to replace worn out Cheap Shimano shifters that came on it, These look, feel and work better than those Shimano shifters ever did. Easy to install and these did come complete with cables and grips. Shipping from Sportzoo was crazy fast.....

I like the shifters. Easy to install and they work quite well. However, they did not include the end grips. I thought it was a fluke so I returned the first set, but the next set didn't have them either. I just kept them and bought some end grips locally. It's still a good price without the grips.

Ok, so I have an old bike, but I love it and the shifters were always sort of crappy. I have been repairing them for years and now there was no fix left in them. I was not sure if these would work, but I was amazed at how easy they were to replace and I actually love these more than what came on the bike originally. Easy swap and work super and best of all, the price was great!

I installed this on my bike yesterday and was very pleeased with the completenes of the kit, it has the two twist grips for a 21 speed bike and the grip extensions to complete the handlebar look. The cables are installed in the twistt grips so you just feed it through your existing cable housings. I found instructions for adjustiing them on you tube which made the whole process pretty easy.

6-Speed / 7-Speed / 8-Speed refer to the rear wheel gear set.

I ordered a 6-Speed for my 18 speed Shimano and received a complete replacement set. My set included (1) 3-Speed shifter, (1) 6-Speed shifter, (2) handle bar grips, and (1) instruction sheet.

Although I have not installed them yet, they appear well made and an upgrade to my basic shifters, one which popped a cable. I have no doubt that I will be extremely happy with the product.

Shipping was quick and product was un-opened - Well packed by Amazon for what it is (2 bubble bags).

they are very cool end very confortable nice handeling very smoot to change gear so i realy recomend this shifter.
