Here is a new one for you as far as crappy gear goes.
I ordered this on ebay. It was broken by the postal
service handling alone. Unused, brand new, shipped
complete, but then broken by the typical handling of the US P.O.

I thought this was associated with the original
gripshift, but it isn't. It functions with a spring
that winds up when you twist one way, and unwinds when
you twist the other way. 4 very brittle, very small tabs
engage the spring, which is very STIFF. It was one of these
tabs that had "failed" under stress of not even being used.

This thing wouldn't last 1 week on the handle bar of a 5
year old. The reason it is almost free, is because they
should pay you to buy it.
