for a biginner's derailler, this one works great. It is a lot heavier than the one that came on my nike, and certainly works a lot smoother. Wouldn't recommend this to more intermediate bikers, but to anyone looking for a cheap replacement for a less expensive bike, this one is great.

I have run this derailleur on several bikes and really like it. Not a glorious unit in terms of price or weight but a steady, reliable, minimum maintenance unit good for thousands of miles on my nine speed commuter. Am building a bike up now to use it.
