Great way to get into trigger shifters,

I chose these shifters because I have always liked SRAMs line of shifters, but I prefer the rest of my drivetrain to be Shimano. Most SRAM shifters are not compatible with Shimano rear derailleurs because they use a different pull ratio.
SRAM took care of that problem with the TRX triggers, These shifters bolted right up, and I had no issues running them with my Shimano Alivio derailleurs. The TRX trigger shifters are not top of the line by any means, but for the price I think they are a great way to introduce yourself to the world of trigger shifters. They are of good quality and I expect them to last me a long time

These shifters seemed to operate smoothly... before one of them broke. I didn't even have the derailleurs adjusted before the right shifter stopped functioning. Do not buy this product! Spend the extra ten bucks on a better set.

I normally use Shimano XT & SLX for my mountain bike; rebuilding an old GT hardtail for street riding. I didn't want to upgrade the whole drive train to 8/9 speed for higher end shifters so I went with the TRX for 7 speed. I've worked on my own bikes for 18 years plus and they looked like ok shifters when I opened the box. Installed them, began adjusting the rear shifter and derailleur when I felt the shifter give way going down the gears (after everything else was set up). I instantly knew that the internals were now shot. Un-screwed the hex bolt on the trigger and flipped it over. The inside of the shifter lever was in pieces!!!!!! So disappointed!! SRAM's lower end products are garbage. Found this out the hard way a few months ago with my Avid Juicy 3 hydraulic brakes (since upgraded to SLX). Avoid these shifters like the plague
