Great way to get into trigger shifters,

I chose these shifters because I have always liked SRAMs line of shifters, but I prefer the rest of my drivetrain to be Shimano. Most SRAM shifters are not compatible with Shimano rear derailleurs because they use a different pull ratio.
SRAM took care of that problem with the TRX triggers, These shifters bolted right up, and I had no issues running them with my Shimano Alivio derailleurs. The TRX trigger shifters are not top of the line by any means, but for the price I think they are a great way to introduce yourself to the world of trigger shifters. They are of good quality and I expect them to last me a long time

These shifters seemed to operate smoothly... before one of them broke. I didn't even have the derailleurs adjusted before the right shifter stopped functioning. Do not buy this product! Spend the extra ten bucks on a better set.

I normally use Shimano XT & SLX for my mountain bike; rebuilding an old GT hardtail for street riding. I didn't want to upgrade the whole drive train to 8/9 speed for higher end shifters so I went with the TRX for 7 speed. I've worked on my own bikes for 18 years plus and they looked like ok shifters when I opened the box. Installed them, began adjusting the rear shifter and derailleur when I felt the shifter give way going down the gears (after everything else was set up). I instantly knew that the internals were now shot. Un-screwed the hex bolt on the trigger and flipped it over. The inside of the shifter lever was in pieces!!!!!! So disappointed!! SRAM's lower end products are garbage. Found this out the hard way a few months ago with my Avid Juicy 3 hydraulic brakes (since upgraded to SLX). Avoid these shifters like the plague

Bought these shifters as replacements for my broken Shimano STX shifters, the originals on my old 1990's Specialized Rockhopper. I like these SRAMs more than teh original Shimanos. Easily installed and adjusted. Solid operation.

SRAM: Excellent brand, extremely sub-par shifter set.,

As an avid mountain biker I love SRAM's line of components as well as those from the other brands under their parent company.
I had an old fixed suspension mountain bike circa 1998 that I recently overhauled into a commuter mountain bike that sees moderate trail use every so often. Unfortunately, in the process of replacing several components I had to settle on either SRAM MRX Comp twist shifters or these SRAM TRX's trigger shifters, as many companies no longer make 7-speed compatible components... I should have originally gone with their MRX Comp. (Have since ordered and replaced the TRX with this great product) The right trigger broke after two or three uses on the trail, having never being able to pull cleanly in the first place after installation. I am an experienced bike mechanic so I'd like to say it wasn't an installation problem, more just you get what you pay for. I really wish SRAM kept a little higher quality 7-speed trigger shifter set in production even though things are moving the way of the 10-speed now. The short version: You get what you pay for when it comes to many components. If you're not going to see trail use and can have these properly installed they may last you several months. BUT - if you're going to take these anywhere where you would like to reliably shift up and down several gears quickly and cleanly - look elsewhere. If you have to have something 7-speed compatible I would recommend the Grip Shift MRX Comp. (GRIP SHIFT is SRAM)

I have had to replace this shifter twice but it was due to me crashing, haha so all in all it is very good and will buy again if and when I break my current ones!!

I found a Schwinn road bike at a thrift store for $30.00 and road for a few months on it. My other bikes are treks and I love the performance of them. I thought I would play with upgrading the Schwinn and swapped out new handle bars, grips, brake levers, tires and saddle. I love the retro look of the project with it's new upright riding position. The Shimano R453 shifters work fine and look good on this bike. The bike is still fast with new life to it and more miles to be put on it. Shipping was fast and as usual of great quality. Thanks Amazon for all the parts that have gone into this project. I would recommend and have done so to other riders where to go and find upgrades and hard to find parts for vintage and newer parts.

I broke the twist shifter on my Raleigh M20 mountain bike. I just got the shifters today and they installed easily and work fine.
