5.0 out of 5 stars Everything I might want in a chain.
It's smooth, it shifts quickly, it doesn't get bound-up links like my old Shimano chain, and the Powerlink makes it a snap to take off & clean. Love it!

2.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing Quality
I purchased this chain on August 24th received and Installed it on August 26th and in the past month that I've been riding on this chain I've had links break on three separate occasions. On one of these occasions, the power link that came with the chain snapped and broke. I'm not sure if this chain is the new norm or the exception for SRAM as in the past I've used SRAM...

On one of these occasions, the power link that came with the chain snapped and broke. I'm not sure if this chain is the new norm or the exception for SRAM as in the past I've used SRAM chains with moderate success in the past but I think I'll be utilizing KMC chains for the foreseeable future.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worn Out Quickly?, April 30, 2011

This chain has 2,110 Miles on it.

I bought it 8 months ago.

I used Park Tool CC-2 to check the wear.

My riding is in any weather but only on city streets.

Keeping my bike clean is not a top priority and will only grease things when they start to squeak.

Love the P-Link

My 2 cents

This chain is fast, quiet and durable. What else should a chain be? It keeps my Stumpjumper 29er rockin'!

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and reuse link, May 7, 2008
By
I have about 4,000 miles on my bike and this is the 3rd chain, including the one that came with the bike. I like the connecting link SRAM uses. I can take the chain off of the bike easily for cleaning, etc. The initial rides with this chain were a little rough, but then so were the first rides with my last new Shimano chain. And, I found I needed to turn the barrel adjuster a little for better alignment of the derailleur with the sprockets.

I use the PC-971 on both my mountain bike and our tandem. In both cases the chain gets a real workout and performs admirably. I would recommend this chain unconditionally for use on Shimano or Sram cassettes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick links are awesome., December 12, 2011

Great chain and much cheaper than the Shimano equivalents.

The quick links are sometime difficult to remove by hand, but it is much better than having to break out the chain tool all the time. Great product and value.

This is where I'll go next time I need a chain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great, November 23, 2011

This chain shifts well using either XTR or SRAM cogs. I'm using an XTR cog on this chain and I do 3 MTB rides a week. The chain doesn't stretch much over time and with good maintenance to me last longer than most other chains, Shimano, KMC etc. For the price this was a bargain.

No complaint here. It runs smoothly and the Power Link is easy and practical. Change your chain often and your bike will run smoothly and last a long time.

This is the first SRAM chain I've used. The master link design makes installation or removal a breeze. Shifting is smooth and positive as well. Great chain!
