Excellent Entry-Level Trigger Shifter,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: SRAM TRX Left Index Trigger (Sports)
For anyone looking to replace an older SRAM SX4, you should know that this is the newer version and has the exact same specifications. This replaced the SX4 and is now called the TRX. These shifters work very well for entry-level riding and do not require much maintenance. SRAM is a very well known and respected company for their line of derailleurs and shifters.
This model is half metal and half high-density plastic, so it is plenty strong for an average rider's needs. Although a higher-end model shifter is recommended for more demanding riding. I bought a 2006 Mongoose Comp XR that came with SRAM shifters installed and the SRAM SX4 that controlled the front 3 gears broke internally, it took about 15 minutes to install this one on and set the tension right. |
