Best SRAM rear derailleur ever produced,
By Velocipede (Palm Desert, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SRAM X.0 9-Speed Rear Derailleur (Sports)
The SRAM 9-speed X0 rear derailleur with the alloy cage, is literally BOMBPROOF. I liked mine so much I hunted high and low for the exact same one, and finally found one cheap. This is the non-Black Box Technology, ESP 1:1 ones with the forged alloy cage. They are only 30 grams heavier...but nearly indestructible, compared to the flimsy, carbon-caged, Black Box versions. This thing NEVER misses a shift, pulverizes finger-sized twigs and with the titanium Parallelogram spring - chain slap is simply a thing of the past. Couple these with XO twist shifters - and going from the largest cassette cog to smallest is done with a simple twist...4x faster than anything Shimano currently offers!
The BEST rear derailleurs SRAM ever made were positively the 2002-2005 model year ones, with the Grilon carbon graphics, on the light composite P-knuckle and cable guide. Even the clunky-shifting 10-speed X0 cannot compare. With over 4 riding seasons and nearly 3500 trail miles of use...this durable race part makes no compromises whatsoever. 2115|R31XPN7WY4EBK5;
