SW-801 Yamax Digiwalker Pedometer,
By
This review is from: Sw-801 Yamax Digiwalker Pedometer (Sports)
This pedometer works so much better than many other brands I have tried. The others just never seemed to count anything close to all my steps, but this one does. And the tether helps prevent what could be severe damage from a crash to floor/sidewalk if the unit happens to work itself free from the waistband/belt.

I have three and this is the best!,

This is both the smallest and most accurate of the three pedometers that I have tried. I have posted a photo of the three with links to the other two. I love the fact that the buttons are on the inside so the do not get accidently pushed.

This pedometer works exactly as expected. It accuratly keeps track of your steps and converts to the distance walked and calories burned. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I used a number of pedometers over the years, and this is the most reliable. The others gave inaccurate readings and/or fell off. This one has a good clip and lasts a long time, plus the battery can be replaced.

I bought two of these well-known top-of-the-line pedometers, and have had mixed success with them. One is accurate to within about 3 %. The other counts just 68 to 70 percent of my steps (consistently, though; at least I can multiply by about 1.5 to figure out how far I've walked LOL). It could just be a bad one.I've been using this brand for a LONG time - like, years. Most Yamax pedometers are pretty accurate. Sadly, I've never gotten one that had better accuracy than my old, cheap, primitive 201. All the talk about new-and-improved mechanisms, such as in this model, doesn't really hold up to my own tests. Like all pedometer junkies, I'm always holding out the hope that some manufacturer will nail it with a pedometer that's dead-on accurate as well as unfussy about where it goes on the belt for its step-counting purposes. Honestly, I think the old-school mechanisms in older pedometers like the 201 were more consistent and accurate, and actually less fussy about whether it was sitting in exactly the right place on my belt. I'm not sure I can strongly recommend this particular product, though Yamax pedometers in general have served me very well over the years.

The pedometer is good except for the fact that it is very difficult to open to look at. The latch isstiff and awkward. On the plus side, it went through the washing machine accidentally, and survived quite well.

This is a great pedometer. The buttons on the inside keep it from resetting often (although it does still happen from time to time, which is annoying but I think unavoidable). It does a pretty good job of staying on clothing, especially with a thick wasteband. The calorimeter feature is helpful and above all, it is really light and small!

The Digi-walker Rules,

This will be my second Digi-walker pedometer. That's because the first one lasted for so many years (six or seven) I haven't needed a replacement. I accidentally washed and dried it in a commercial laundry... and it survived intact... I didn't even need to change the battery! I stepped on it more than once. I only gave up on it when the cover finally broke off... it got caught on a door frame as I zipped through... I couldn't reattach it and the buttons kept getting pushed... (Please don't fix this with a better hinge... some built in obsolescence is necessary for good business! I want your business to succeed so I can keep sending friends to you for the world's best pedometers!)

Trying to lose holiday pounds can be tough, especially when you work a lot of hours like me and have a bad back-this helps me monitor my steps. I have set goals at various increments and this helps me maintain as I adjust to the added walking. If walking is your thing-you will like this. And a good value!

Great pedometer. Comes with attached clasp, no need to buy one separately. Easy to use, discreet, I'm getting more steps in thanks to keeping track!
