SSG/BSN Squishy Ball Set

My children love these things and no matter where I buy them -- they're everywhere these days, they always seem to be fun at first and then start to get kind of gross after awhile. These things seem to attract everything that they're exposed to very easily -- dust, dirt, hair, sweat, food, fuzzies, juice, etc. You're hands have to be VERY clean and VERY dry, otherwise these things get really gross quickly. Washing them didn't seem to be an option, because then the rubbery hairs get permanently sticky and are never normal again.

After throwing away several of these, I finally found a good fix for this problem that extends their life and keeps these things from getting really gross.

I go ahead and hand-wash the ball with dish soap, hand soap, whatever soap, rinse, let it air-dry completely, and then sprinkle baby-powder on the ball and work it in. I start with only a small amount of baby powder and work it in. I keep sprinkling the baby powder and working it in until the ball is no longer sticky and back to normal. Then I pluck out any fuzzies, hairs, etc that may not have come out when I washed them. It works pretty good. Note: You must let the ball air-dry completely before you sprinkle on the baby powder for this to work.

Flour might work just as well, but I've never tried it.

This is just a little hint. Hope it helps.

These are fun to play with, but kids who are strong enough to pull and poke will destroy these in little time. I bought these for my elementary students to use at recess; despite my warnings, the little munchkins managed to poke holes (deflating them) or pull out the appendages (deflating them) within a week's time. I'd say these are great for little kids, but older ones (school-aged?) will destroy these fairly quickly. Too bad, because they ARE fun.

Good, but not as strong or long lasting as some other Squishy Balls I have purchased.

I liked the first set of these the day I bought them, so I turned around and purchased another set right away. I wish that I had waited just a bit longer, as three of the balls deflated after the third day of use. I am pretty disappointed in the product, because it is a great idea that just needs better quality control.
