This review is from: SST Oryg Detangler Set OS 1-1/8" / Pro Vert Threadless Silver/Black (Misc.)
This is the detangler (gyro) I have on my bike. It works fine. However, SST Oryg makes several different sets of these that are dependent upon the length of the upper cable you need (which is basically how tall your handlebars are), so you need to know that measurement before you order. There are the Flatland, Vert, Poser, Hardcore, and Shortcut lengths. You do not want a cable that is either too long or too short, so first contact the bike shop that sells these through Amazon so they can tell you how that is measured. Or find the information on a website (I couldn't or I would have given it here, but I am sure it is somewhere). Then order the set you need,so you the don't have to get the right upper cable later at further cost.
Anyway, the measurement you need is between the end of your brake lever (where the cable enters) to the rotor on the detangler (which is pretty much the same as measuring to the bottom of the handlebar stem on the typical setup). This is measured in a straight line between the two points (not in a curve like the cable will actually be).
If the measurement is:
180-205mm you need the Hardcore
190-240mm you need the Pro Flatland
240-280mm you need the Pro Vert
280-320mm you need the Poser
less than 180mm you need the Shortcut
If you are measuring in inches, multiply inches by 25.4 and this will give you millimeters. For example, if the measurement you come up with is 9", you multiply that by 25.4 and you get 228mm, so you would need the Pro Flatland cable. This is actually what the majority of 20" BMX-style bikes would use.
Also, you have to remember to get the set for the correct steertube diameter, which is either 1" or 1-1/8". Most name-brand bikes will be 1-1/8", but you have to know for sure!
