This solder did the trick.

I tend to use my torch when soldering, only because it seems like every time I read about soldering, the perils of using a soldering iron are discussed.

The flux worked well prepping the metal and finished product came out very nicely.

Not sure why Amazon gave me toy related categories to rate, but whatever. This silver solder does the trick for repairing jewelry. I fixed 4 broken sterling silver chains with it and already paid for itself. The solder could be a little thinner to handle finer stuff more easily. I tried using a torch at first...I guess I'm just not good at it. I ended up using a soldering iron with much better results.

I was looking for silver solder with the special flux so that I could solder some stainless steel. I have a gas rc engine and needed to solder the stainless steel spark plug cap. This solder did the trick. You can't find it just anywhere. You can also solder aluminum with this solder. I am very happy with the purchase.

This is a fantastic buy - the flux works really well, using only a drop or two. The solder appears to be easy melt - my torch took it from zero to flow in nothing flat. I tend to use my torch when soldering, only because it seems like every time I read about soldering, the perils of using a soldering iron are discussed. After working with the Stay Brite I am not hesitant to use my soldering iron, which I LOVE. Since I'm not the best at soldering (and because I know myself lol) I solder outside with my torch. On a cinder block. With my tripod on top. In the middle of the sidewalk. Paranoid? Maybe a little...but I doubt the 3 other families who share townhouse walls with me would be very forgiving if I accidentally caught the place on fire. I'm not worried about using my soldering iron inside - and knowing I can successfully solder with this will ramp up the time I can solder.

I love that the flux is included and that it all fits in the little container. This is my absolute favorite solder for jewelry and small art projects - I'm REALLY glad I found it!

I used this solder to affix a brass crossguard to a knife. The melting point of the solder is low enough I was able to get a good fusion without heating the blade up too much and ruining the temper. I did wrap the blade with wet paper towels to prevent overheating.
The flux worked well prepping the metal and finished product came out very nicely. The product did everything I wanted at a reasonable price.

what it is: fairly fine silver/tin solder for electrical and jewelry repair, etc

I used this in manufacturing some pendants for necklaces for gifts. A modest electronics soldering iron was easily able to melt the solder.

Solder is solid wire with separate liquid flux.

Product does what it should. I only give 5's for exceptional products. This is a 4.

I will try to fix just about anything that gets broken. I have amassed a large collection of epoxy adhesives, solders, glues, and other materials.
I have soldered a number of parts together with Stay Brite and it is easy to work with and I've never had a joint that was made with this solder fail. The flux that comes with the Stay Brite Flux works very well to prevent the metal from oxidizing. (Solder will not bond to metal that has oxides on the surface.)
I really like the packaging. The plastic bottle the solder and flux come in keep the solder and bottle of flux in pristine condition. No chance of the flux being misplaced plus the kit bottle takes up very little space.

When I solder aluminum or zinc parts I use the Harris AL-Solder. It also comes in kit form with solder and flux packaged in the same type plastic bottle.

I bought this to repair an old ultrosonic cleaner with a stainless steel liner pan. Corrosion resulted in a crack in the liner so that it leaked. I cleaned the area with a wire brush on a moto-tool, put on a couple of drops of the provided flux and in about a minute had a very stable repair. I like that the appropriate flux comes with the solder and worked perfectly. Even with the ultrasonic vibration, the repair appears to be very stable.

This is very strong solder, much stronger than is needed for electronics, and just about right for thin (up to about 14 gauge) sheet metal. You MUST use the flux and a high-wattage HOT iron to heat the metal so it can melt the solder. But if you follow the correct steps to good soldering, then this solder gives very good strength to metal to metal joints.
