5.0 out of 5 stars Stabil vs Stabil Marine Ethanol Stabilizer
I have recently started using the new Stabil Marine formula instead of their regular (red) product. I can report that the Marine (green) works as well as the red but don't know how to tell that its better. This stuff is the real deal when it comes to gas stabilization. I don't think there is a better product on the market for this purpose. These products have saved me...

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Gas
I just picked-up my boat engine (40HP) from the repair shop because it stopped running when I was going crabbing. The mechanic said it was bad gas. Repair cost $128.00

I put "new" gas in the 13 gallon gas tank the beginning of July along with a new gas filter and water separator. I added the Marine Sta-Bil to the gas at this time. Within one month and a...

5.0 out of 5 stars Stabil vs Stabil Marine Ethanol Stabilizer, December 29, 2009
I have recently started using the new Stabil Marine formula instead of their regular (red) product. I can report that the Marine (green) works as well as the red but don't know how to tell that its better. This stuff is the real deal when it comes to gas stabilization. I don't think there is a better product on the market for this purpose. These products have saved me and many others untold grief dealing with sludged fuel and varnished carburetors. I add it to my non-auto fuel at the gas station which mixes it well and prevents me from putting non-treated gas in any of my motors. You never know when some toy or piece of equipment is going to sit for a while and it sure is nice when they start right up. If anyone knows how to rate the red vs green product I am sure all of us would like to hear about it. The green cost more but could be worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Stuff on the Market, September 30, 2010
By
BSB (North Carolina, United States) - See all my reviews
If you put this fuel stabilizer in all of your outdoor power equipment, boats, and any other gasoline powered equipment that has the potential to stay idle more than 30 days then you will virtually eliminate fuel related problems. I have put away string trimmers and leaf blowers for the winter with gas in the tank and they start right up in the spring. The marine version would seem more expensive at first glance but it treats 4 times the amount of fuel than the standard red version. It is actually less expensive. The shelf life of this product is two years after the container is opened so if you purchase the 32 oz bottle make sure you are going to use 320 gallons of fuel in 24 months. Otherwise buy the smaller container or share with a neighbor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Marine Sta-Bil, September 1, 2011
If you visit the Sta-Bil website, the difference between the standard red and the marine green is primarily the amount of detergents and cleaning additives. It does not really keep your fuel stable longer... It simply doubles the amount of cleaners and detergents which is a great thing when it comes to dealing with this ethanol blended crap our wonderful government has forced upon us. Reality is, this ethanol requirement has simply driven up the cost of everything else that is produced with corn as so much of it is going into the production of ethanol. There is no savings anywhere thanks to this ethanol mandate. We all just buy stronger fuel additives, get worse gas mileage and watch the price of everything else that uses corn go up. Wonderful! Marine Sta-Bil is a necessity in my opinion. I use it ALL THE TIME in my boat and all power equipment.

We use this for our two stroke engine on our boat. We just mix the correct amount of fuel and this Sta-Bil, and our engine runs like a top.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buy in bulk & save., August 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Product is well known. The price in a marine store is
Typicaly over $9 for 8 oz. If you have large
Fuel tanks it makes sense to save the
40%. Two 32oz bottles cost
Less than $48 delivered no tax.

5.0 out of 5 stars great product, March 16, 2011

Read up on different products, checked Youtube and it seems sta-bil 22240 marine fuel stabilizer works best for me. I've put it in lawn mowers (push/riding), motorcycle and 2 and 4 stroke mercury outboard motors. Worked well in everything so far. I've noticed a small improvement on my mileage on the motorcycle (Harley FXDL). I'll keep using it, worked well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Marine Stable - good product, January 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this because the ethanol crap that they are putting into our gasoline is destroying our engines (and our gas milage). I've had loads of problems with my small engines (lawn mower, generator, leaf blower, power washer) and noticed my vehicles run rough when it was introduced. I've read that ethanol will also destroy our vehicles in the same way, only slowly because they don't usually sit idol like the small engine equipment. ANyway, I've been using it in my vehicles and have noticed a stark improvement in the water that drains out of the tail pipe. I don't believe it's helped gas milage though, but if it keep the trucks from crapping up, it's well worth it.
