"Stained Glass" Review,

"Stained Glass" is a fascinating revelation of an ancient art form in all of its illuminated glory. Being a visual person, I personally appreciated the near 500 colour photos cataloging the history of stained glass windows throughout the world.
Part one of the book discusses "The World of Stained Glass", looking at its relationship to architecture and various cultural elements. The second part of the book shares "The History of Stained Glass" from the perspective of artistic and social influences. And the third part of the book explains "How a Stained Glass Window is Made and Restored" using a step by step pictorial illustration. This book is a must for every serious student of stained glass. You might want to consider an historical fiction book showing life during the time of the building of the great cathedrals of the 12th century. The Pillars of the Earth |
