5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific read!!!
This, the second book in the Trinian Trilogy, is something spectacular.

The first half of the book keeps you guessing the entire time, with a feeling similar to a Tarantino or Guy Ritchie film. The plot jumps completely away from one character outline to the next and back again. It's wonderful.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, clean read
This was a nice quick read with clear lines between good and evil. Could be used for language arts assignments to encourage kids to expand/expound scenes that the plot merely coasts through. Underlying message of the importance of Biblical truth/worldview identifiable by my kids, ages 12 and 14.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific read!!!, March 8, 2007

This, the second book in the Trinian Trilogy, is something spectacular.

The first half of the book keeps you guessing the entire time, with a feeling similar to a Tarantino or Guy Ritchie film. The plot jumps completely away from one character outline to the next and back again. It's wonderful.

Then, just as you begin to fully grasp the concept of the background story, the plot takes off and leaves you fighting to hold on! This is truly a compelling piece of work. Your emotions will run the gamut. You'll cry for a mother that longs for her son, and within a couple of pages laugh out loud at an awkward moment between a young man and young woman enjoying the comfort of each other's company during a tumultuous time.

What's also important to note, as other reviewers have, is the heavy presence of The LORD's Word. Mr. Rotering is brave to step out of the shadows and 'Stand' up for what he believes in. The message here is clear and powerful. Bravo sir, for you will be rewarded before Your Father in Heaven for your witness.

Get yourself a copy of this first work from Terrence L. Rotering - you won't be disappointed! I also definitely look forward to the first and third installments in the Trinian saga.

I was truly unsure of how I would like this book when I first started reading it. The idea of a fictional adventure that was founded on scripture sounded like it had a chance to be a dull and boring book. I was however, pleasantly surprised. The book not only isn't boring at all, but for any Christian will be very uplifting and meaningful. It is an excellent departure from secular fiction that seems to always perpetuate non-Christian ideals. I would highly recommend this book to everyone!

4.0 out of 5 stars Stand! A great read!, February 26, 2007
This review is from: STAND (Chronicles of Trinian) (Paperback)
I really liked this book! The story was written originally for the author's two sons, and it tied together real life people and friends in this family's lives with fictional characters. Mr. Rotering has masterfully woven together an intriguing story using a C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and Frank Peretti style. I loved the story with its obvious application to our culture and highly recommend this book. Looking forward to the other two parts of the trilogy!

A thrilling story with a strong Biblical theme - I could hardly put it down. Parts of this book will really stir up your emotions, and the detailed descriptions make for vivid mental images. "Stand" could be made into an excellent movie!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stand does deliver, February 11, 2007
This review is from: STAND (Chronicles of Trinian) (Paperback)
Stand is a fictional story that should intrigue the entire family. I give the Author credit as he has stepped beyond boundries established by a secular society that deams faith and religion as something tabboo. He has cast his entire work in the image and imagination of his faith.

This story is a positive and uplifting work that leads the reader to want more. Though the story is predictable at times for the Christian reader, it is a perfect, introductory book for young minds that seek the truth (God's Word) in a creative story line that supports strong family bonds, trust and compassion.

I must say that I found it difficult to put the book down and it is a very good one night read for an adult as well as a great book for children in the age group of about five to thirteen.

Keep up the good work Mr. Rotering. I look forward to reading the first and third books in this series. In keeping with the theme allow me to say on His behalf...."Well done my good and faithful servant!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Take a Stand!, December 12, 2006
By
Terrence L. Rotering (Virginia, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: STAND (Chronicles of Trinian) (Paperback)
STAND is a story of family, faith, hope, and love. It is perfect to read on your own or together as a family.

Summary: A family struggles to survive as the land of Trinian is attacked by an ancient enemy. Meanwhile, a spiritual battle rages between the angels of God and the demons of hell. This is a war for survival, and the ramifications are eternal.

The story has real-life implications for all of us. We face a similar enemy and must make our stand!

The author has written STAND as the second book in an eventual trilogy. Watch for the next release!

5.0 out of 5 stars Far Away Land - Just Like Here, November 21, 2008
This review is from: STAND (Chronicles of Trinian) (Paperback)
Nothing is quite as much fun as reading a Christian fiction novel that clearly points out what happens when people lose their moral compass. Stand tells the story of another world and another time, with the TRUTH solidly imprinted in it published DNA.

Having principles and a steadfast determination to live by those principles makes the world work. It makes us better citizens no matter where we live. Reading about the battles, the betrayals, and the eventual "coming home" of the characters in this book has been a blast!

Louis the Lost, the scientific advisor Dristan, Thalia the Thinking, Lucious, Tanner Lucas Tigris, Teroth the Third of Rothing, Thomas Catshire Hunter, and Carolina are all such interesting cast members, that I was sad when the story ended.

Terrence L. Rotering is a VERY intersting fellow, and I'm glad that his book often appears next to mine at different online bookstores.

May God bless.
See ya next review!
