I'm a perfectionist when it comes to playing RPG's, I want to find every nook and cranny, every upgrade, and every secret I can without missing one bit.
So as I entered Star Ocean the Last Hope, I decided to purchase and use this guide, and believe me, it was not a mistake.

Over the years I've used guides, some were well laid out and easy to use, while others were confusing dictionaries that require you to use the index every few seconds.
This guide is fantastic, everything is laid out in the order of which you encounter events within the game. From Private Actions, to Item Creation, you always know what's coming up, what you can do with what item, and you won't waste any of your time running around in circles when you want to know what to do next.

I recommend this product for those that would like to perfect this game, though it does spoil a couple of parts of the story line if you read ahead of the point you are at. A suggestion would be to only read as far as you have progressed, that way you won't spoil the story line for yourself.

All in all, a fantastic guide of the highest quality.

This really was a good guide for the Star Ocean: Last Hope game. The walkthrough doesn't let you miss anything, and I love that private actions are in the walkthrough and not in the back of the book, like other guides for Star Ocean. The walkthrough gets four stars from me - one star is lost for the incorrect information it gives that directly impacts Reimi's ending.

The items lists were long and unweildly. They were not in alphabetical order and this made them horribly difficult to work with. However, at least it had items lists - some guides don't.

The lack of a synthesis chart was a big negative. Synthesis is such a big part of the later game, and there is very little direction or guidance for this. However, the guide gives some synthesis recommendations which are pretty good, so that helped a bit.

I usually judge a guide by the amount of time I spend on the internet looking for information that the guide doesn't contain. I did not have to do that a lot for this game - hence the four stars.

When buying a guide, usually i expect to see everything correct. No way did i see this in the guide i had bought. I had missed one of the most favorable scenes in the game because of advice from this guide. Many of the side-quests and orders have badly explained advice as to where to collect certain items. I spent most of my time on the internet rather then this guide to get advice with item creation and everything else.

Besides the misinformation, the guide is nicely done with maps and colorful explanations.

My point: If you dont care about completing the game 100%, by all means.. get it. But if you are the ocd type, just go to gamefaqs.com, as they have all the advice you need and more. Not to mention.. its free.

I'm never buying a Brady guide again. Waste of money in my eyes.

RPGs are a tricky thing. They are really fun to play, but often leave you out in the cold when you're not sure where to go. The internet helps to a certain degree, but it's hard to find the exact spot you were on and it doesn't contain all the information you want. This guide does! Oh my does it!

I wanted an RPG that I could really get into. I found it in Star Ocean. The only problem was that I kept getting stuck not knowing where to go. This guide gives you step by step instructions on where to go and what to do. It's impossible to get lost. This book also tells you when a pivotal moment is about to come up in the game that if you miss, you'll miss for good. These moments are the ones that shape your affinity with other characters. Knowing where one is or if I missed one and can go back to get it, is worth the price of the guide.

I highly recommend this product if you bought the game and plan on finishing it. It's great for before bed reading too!

I love strategy guides, and this one is high quality. Real thick, full of color, maps, stats, and everyhting else you could possibly need to know about the game.

It is exactly what it is supposed to be. A guide book for a video game. It has beautiful artwork and is well organized. Well written and full of good information on the game and little things you may miss if playing without it. A good buy if you are into getting the full experience from your game.

The book is very useful i'd recomend it to everyone who plays this game. It is a must have for all RPG gammers!

This is one of the best guides I bought. Most of the time i buy guides to get full info about the game even gamefaqs miss some stuff when game is just released + the arts. Is a very complete guide it tells you even how to get all the add endings private actions item even the dungeon to fight Ethereal Queen (Last Boss Dungeon of all Tri-ace creations). So I recommend this guide is totally worthy.

Totally happy with the guide...was hoping for pull out maps though! That being said, it's a solid, well put together guide!

It was a great guide with all the stuff you need to get through the game. That's about all.
