Great design for a laptop backpack and still have room for books!, September 22, 2009
This review is from: STM Bags DP-0914-1 Medium Evolution Backpack,Fits up to 15 Inch Screens, Graphite-Black (Personal Computers)
Originally by just looking at the pictures, I thought this backpack was really a laptop only backpack. I did a few hours of research to find more information and possibly a video review of this backpack to see how it would really look like in reality. [...]. They even have the maximum laptop size measurement for the laptop storage area. I decided to take the risk and buy this backpack because I would still get the chest and waist straps.
The laptop storage place is fully padded! It fits my HP Pavilion dv6000 15.4 inch widescreen laptop perfectly with still some extra space. There's still plenty of room for a 1 inch binder and 2 or 3 books. There are two external side pouches for a water bottle. The front pocket is huge and deep. I can store up to 8 pens or/and pencils. I like the detachable key ring, it's very easy to use. There's plenty of room for me to store my AC adapter, wireless mouse, TI-84+ graphing calculator, financial calculator, mini-stapler, planner, and other stuff I carry with me. My laptop weighs about 6 pounds plus 2-3 books come out to around 9 to 10 pounds. That's a lot of weight. Half of the time when I'm walking from the library to my classroom, I hardly noticed that I'm carrying all that stuff. It's very comfortable on my back and shoulders. I sometimes don't even need to use the straps. It even comes with a detachable cell phone and IPod/mp3 player pouch. I don't need those, so I just leave them at home. I'm going to upload some pictures when I have time available. If you have any comments or questions, please do leave a comment. I'll be happy to answer them (English only).

well designed, well made, November 25, 2009
This review is from: STM Bags DP-0914-1 Medium Evolution Backpack,Fits up to 15 Inch Screens, Graphite-Black (Personal Computers)
At $100 I was skeptical that I'd get my money's worth but I got this as an impulse buy at my local Mac store. I figured I could use it to hold stuff since my motorcycle has zero storage space. I used this bag to carry my laptop and other misc school items when I rode to/from school. 15.2" widescreen laptop, books, wireless mouse, wallet, groceries...etc it seemed no matter what I needed to stuff into this bag, it would fit!
It's VERY well made! I've ridden in the rain with it and even took it snowboarding. The bag is somewhat water resistant to begin with but couple that with the fold-away water-proof membrane and you got piece of mind! When I crashed my motorcycle at freeway speeds this bag not only saved my life (protected my back) it also survived!
Bottom line: if you need a well designed back pack to survive several round trips to hell and back this is the one

Good Product But Needs More Pockets, May 15, 2010
This review is from: STM Bags DP-0914-1 Medium Evolution Backpack,Fits up to 15 Inch Screens, Graphite-Black (Personal Computers)
This is a good product if you are looking for a rugged backpack laptop case. It has some really nice features such as the hidden laptop compartment, built in rain coat and shoulder strap cell phone case. The reason why I gave it 3 stars was because it was missing one really important feature for me, pockets to store/organize additional cables and items. I'm big on having a spot for everything, but if you don't care about pockets for all your accessories this is a great bag. I would also recommend it for someone that rides a motorcycle, it has a great hideaway waist strap and the built in rain coat is good for the days you don't expect rain. Also, the quality of this bag is top notch and much better than any of the $70 and up bags your local Best Buy or Electronics retailer sells.
