I have more than 30 years experience in all types of floor installations and work as a flooring problem expert. This book is an extremely handy reference for learning about slip-falls.

I was astounded at the amount of new, clear, and useful information in this book that isn't available in the other books that I've read on this subject. Finally, there are some sensible rules to apply in cutting my company's considerable annual slip-and-fall losses.

Other slip and fall books I've seen are mainly for lawyers litigating on injury cases, not for people like me who are trying to prevent accidents from happening in the first place. It especially impressed me that the guidelines in Sotter's book fit specific practical situations, far from the "one size fits all" approach that I've seen recommended by others in the past. I expect this book to pay for itself hundreds of times over at our company's properties.

Sotter's book is an invaluable tool, not only for attorneys to educate themselves, but also during trial. It's absolutely a very important piece of evidence because it adds credibility to our expert's opinions.

Having reviewed Dr. Sotter's book, I find it to be the most comprehensive publication to date regarding prevention of slip and fall accidents. The book provides a much needed common sense and holistic approach on the subject of walking surfaces, and is written so that the lay person can understand it.

This book presents some good information, especially for those with limited experience in the field... But this book definitely shows the author's biases, particularly in the area of floor treatments and testing methods. There are better books out there on this topic.
