Simply stated: I was blown away with this video. McConaughey's narration here is obviously on a subject he's very passionate about and, although it's a little known video, it's probably his best work yet. Coach Royal's life is fasincating and it's presented with much savvy and in a very entertaining way. Apparently, the video was made by some Hollywood movie makers who are fans of Texas football...so it's a first class effort. Great, star-studded cast. I loved seeing Willie Nelson talk about Darrell (what an unlikely pair of friends!). I can't say enough great stuff on this one.

For any Longhorn fan of the late sixties. This is a great story about a great coach. But... what really makes the video a 5 star is the story of the "Great Shoot-Out" between Texas and Arkansas for the National Championship with the 1969 team.

Reliving that game is pure "burnt orange" excitement!

Informative, interesting, well written...what more can I say??? If you don't watch this film, you are missing out. I wasn't a UT fan when I watched, but you can bet I've watched every game since! This is a heartwarming story that the whole family can relate to and enjoy.

All the reviews seem to be listed under the VHS version of this film...but WOW! It looks great on DVD and seeing the '69 Texas/Arkansas "Game of the Century" again was fantastic. Darrell Royal is a legend and this film has done a great job of capturing his incredible story. My wife (who tolerates my college football obsession at best) even loved it. 5 stars!
