A wonderful reference for cinema fans. All 1,738 films of M-G-M are described and illustrated in black & white with a special color photo section for the musicals. Out of print but worth hunting down to add to your film library.

I have several books documenting all of the films of a particular major Hollywood studio. All of them are pretty good but this is the best. Because it's insightful, informative with concisely written reviews an most impressively, gives an effective overview of the rise and decline of this studio.It also has a sly sense of humour and wit, something that most of the other movie studio books lack. I've had this book for many, many years and still enjoy flicking through it on a regular basis.
