'I like Chace as much as I like Elvis Cole!' - Kerry Kilburn (See full review below)

A former detective in San Francisco confronts the serial killer who got away.... and the woman who broke his heart.

In 1985, Peterson Chace was the lead investigator for the Moonstone Murderer Case, a serial killer that held San Francisco in a grip of fear. Moonstone eluded capture and escaped justice in a brutal confrontation on the Golden Gate Bridge, leading Chace into a breakdown and forcing his resignation from the police department.

Three years later, with a new career as a mystery novelist, Chace is drawn back in to the world he left when Moonstone reappears, slaughtering seemingly random victims and holding the entire city hostage with his reign of terror. As the case progresses, Chace finds himself dealing with Mayor Sarah Westin, an ADA in the original case, and the one woman in his life Chace finds haunting his memory.

In a shattering climax deep in downtown San Francisco, Chace confronts his demons once and for all and learns that sometimes, the second chance is the one that counts....

This is one of those books you won't be able to put down.

Chace, the hero, is recovering from facing down a serial killer of incredible horrors. His nightmares are so vivid they'll give you nightmares.

He a man who loves completely and has given his whole heart to Sarah, believing she loves the same way. Was he wrong?

The action scenes are described with attention to detail. Not too little, not too much, just right.

After the last page, you'll stare out the window and hope a sequel is in Graham's computer.

Graham's Street Heat combines the street-wise feel of a hard-boiled detective novel with a modern sensibility that brings depth and realism to even his minor characters. The storyline -- of a former police officer confronted at once with the impossible return of a serial killer he himself killed and the unwanted return of the woman who broke his heart -- is taut and well crafted; it kept me turning pages long after I should have been in bed. I was especially impressed with Graham's rendering of protagonist Peterson Chace. The man I met in the opening pages had clearly been shaped by personal and professional trials and trauma, but he'd also taken responsible steps to make himself whole. I liked him. But as I learned more about his past, I also came to admire and respect him. He became what I always hope fictional characters become: a friend.

Street Heat is a perfect summer getaway book. Whether it's to help pass time on your flight, relax after a busy day, or give you an excuse for a lazy afternoon in the hammock, you'll want this novel loaded onto your Kindle and ready to go!

This is a very fast and entertaining read! In fact, it went too quickly for me. I did not want it to end. The characters are very well crafted. The story is mesmerizing. One mystery leads to another. A real page turner. I highly recommend STREET HEAT!
