3.0 out of 5 stars Good Ideas, Weak Execution, February 8, 2009
This review is from: STUDENT TRANSITIONS FROM MIDDLE TO HIGH SCHOOL (Paperback)
Since I work with counselors at middle and high schools I saw this book as a good addition to my reading. For the most part, it was, with convenient reviews of research about transitions and some practical tips for helping students make the transition from MS to HS. I was interested to learn that kids who have to transition a lot often do less well than their peers who don't.
At the same time, I was put off by the many grammatical and spelling errors in the book, which lessen its effectiveness. They made the book seem self-published and therefore less authoritative than it might have been.
