About Sugoi
For years, hardcore athletes have known that Sugoi makes some of the most hard-working apparel in endurance sports. For over 20 years, the company has been working diligently to make sure it lives up to its name. Sugoi's journey began when David Hollands, a bicycle racer, and Carol Prantner, a fashion student, founded the company in 1987. The upstart originated as a basement operation in the outdoor playground of Vancouver, British Columbia. The initial product consisted merely of bike shorts, made to address the short supply of genuine technical cycling apparel, which all came from Japan or Europe at the time.

These humble shorts contained the genesis of the original Sugoi ethic of innovation and excellence, and soon enough other competitors wanted the shorts too. Sugoi quickly earned an almost cult following among athletes seeking the best-performing, best-looking apparel available.

Twenty years hasn't changed Sugoi's relentless focus on making workouts a great experience, but the company has certainly changed. Today, it has more than 250 employees. Its expansive catalogs now offer hundreds of technical garments and accessories, including underlayers, jackets, shorts, swimsuits, socks, and hats. With distribution throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, Sugoi is truly an international brand.

Ironman winners, world champions, and Olympians--they've all worn Sugoi, and they continually provide the company with flattering feedback on its range of apparel. The people at Sugoi admit that they revel in such praise from the ranks of the elite, but they've always known their success derives from recognizing and serving the needs of their core customer: the committed, everyday athlete.

I run a lot in a park that has a 6 mile loop, with long stretches of up/downhills. I realized that the downhill sections (plus pavement) were beating up on my shins and calves so I gave these knee-high socks a try. Well, let me tell ya, they work real well! These socks have turned my feet+shin/calves (my lower legs) into a shock absorbing machine. I've also started using these socks for hockey, snowboarding, and basketball. Man, are these sweet or what. I also like these socks b/c they wick sweat away very nicely (compared to cotton socks which easily get way too wet and nasty).

These Sugoi R+R socks are quite comfortable and these actually have a slick but soft feeling, with almost cotton-sock-like thickness. Some of its competitors, like the CW-X socks, are way too thin for me- they are as thick as women's stockings, which I didn't like. Sugio Knee Highs are awesome, really!!

Btw, the size chart is on their website. I had to scroll down quite a bit. Small: Shoe size: 5.5-7.5, Medium: 8-10.5, Large: 11-13.

Amazon, please stock up some more on sizes/colors please!

I purchased these socks after reading articles about how to recover faster after a workout and noting that several elite athletes recommended compression socks for 24 hours after a hard workout.

For me, these socks have worked well. They've allowed me to do intense workouts closer together and, more important, sharply reduced the incidence of leg cramps after workouts.

My only knock on them is that they started pilling and pulling threads after just 4 wearings.

Bought both sugoi and cep at same time to see how they performed. Sugoi looks "cooler" and has better sole-of-foot but falls down to ankles.
CEP has a firmer squeeze, which I was looking for, and stays in place during long runs and even all day long if I wear them through the day.
Sugoi size chart suggested small. I bought both small and medium. Small too small. Medium just right. Would be great if sugoi offered higher compression sock as option.

I love these socks. I have four pairs now and wear them all day following long cycle rides.
I find that these socks do not make me too warm, they are cooler than other compression socks. They also provide great compression that has not given up over the 7 months that i have had them.
They wash up well and show no signs of wear. I did receive one pair with a hole in but that got replaced.
The only small downside is with the grey heal and toe box they have now on the white pair. I do not like that the grey heal shows above my shoes. The older white ones used to be all 100% white and thats the way I wished it had stayed.

I purchased these socks after having my greater saphenous vein removed from one leg. Wanting to continue my workouts as soon as possible after surgery, I needed socks with good compression. I was a little taken back by the cost of these type of "technical" socks on the market. The Sugoi socks are actually one of the less expensive options. Bottom line, I love these socks and have gone back and purchased two more pairs.

They are extremely comfortable, with a soft, springy fabric. They also ventilate really well and do not get too hot during a workout. The compression is probably about medium, not too tight but you can definitely feel it in the feet and legs. I can wear these socks all day and they feel great. I must admit, I'm a little self conscious about wearing knee socks with shorts in the gym, definitely not the schoolgirl look I want to affect. It seems like more athletes are wearing this style sock, however -- basketball players and soccer players, etc. Haven't seen too many gym rats wearing them though. I don't care -- they feel and work so well that I'm going to keep wearing them.

These socks were the best addition to my fitness wardrobe. Not only do they add necessary support during my runs and my rides, they are also perfectly comfortable if you have to wear them all day. I am on my feet 8-10 hours every day, and I have to say that I had NO lower leg or foot fatigue after wearing them to work. I HIGHLY recommend them...I am purchasing more as I write this. I will be wearing them when I compete in the New England TOUGH MUDDER on May 6th!

I bought these to add to my rotation of compression socks. I got them at a great price. I have been pleased in that they have worn well. I have not had issues with blisters and they have held up through washings. However, the compression is not as much as my CEP compression socks. I now use these socks for shorter, flat runs and save my CEP socks for the longer or more hilly runs.

My first few times with these have been great. They helped my calves so much I started wearing them for long days at work, too. That's why I needed the second pair. I like that they are labeled right and left. They are soft and thick enough to provide a little cushion as well. Great value for the price.
