Product Description

Product Description

Manufactured in Japan from the highest quality optical glass and built to Sunpak's exacting standards, Sunpak PicturesPlus Filters are available in a comprehensive range of sizes and application types. Sunpak PicturesPlus Filters have been designed to help maximize virtually every photo opportunity, by improving image impact and quality. Sunpak PicturesPlus Filters include the essentials, such as polarizing, ultraviolet and skylight to color balancing, neutral density, black and white correction, special effects, enhancements and close-up lenses. These will all help bring excitement and quality to what might otherwise be ordinary images. The ultraviolet UV filter improves contrast and color saturation by reducing the effects of ultraviolet light and atmospheric dust and haze in sunny landscapes, including mountain, marine and aerial scenes. Can be used in combination with polarizer for stunning scenics, or to protect the front lens element from dirt, fingerprints, and scratches.

Build quality is good. Fit my Nikon 50mm/f1.8 prime lens perfectly. It also fits D50 kit lens very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive lens protection, December 10, 2008

For less than the half the price of a nikon lens cap, you can get this filter. It serves no function on modern digital cameras other than protecting the lens from dust and damage.

If you're taking picture of light sources, you'll get ghosting (stray dots of light) in your photo. In such cases you need to remove the filter. This is the case regardless of how good your UV filter is. Take off the filter when you need 100% of your camera's image quality.

3.0 out of 5 stars Think before you buy it., April 12, 2007

This is a very decent UV filter. I bought it just because of the FREE SHIPPING.
It came in nice packing but the filter itself has some tiny dirt spots on it that cannot be removed.
It is cheap but I wish I would have spent more on a higher quality filter.
