Good performance but hums

I use this as part of a small in-greenhouse aquaponics system to pump water from the tank into a flood and drain growing bed. The pump, on a timer, is in a 65 gallon tank and a few small koi. There is additional filtration with a canister filter. The volume of water and pressure is more than adequet for my needs. The pump always goes on when electricity is applied. Since the impeller's blade plane is 90 degrees to the ground, it can only lower water levels (if needed) leaving about 2-3 inches from the bottom. If you need a very quiet pump, this is not the one for you; the connecting tubes always vibrated and there was hum that would be noticed in a quiet room. It comes in a colored box with one adapter for a half-inch (i.d.) tubing.

pros: price, performance good-pressure and volume above average for similarly priced pumps

cons: is not the quietest, makes a slight hum and vibration,

Will not empty a container.

The pump doesn't draw water from the bottom like other submersible pumps. We when we're draining a water barrel, there is around 2-3 inches of water left before it starts sputtering and complaining. Does not meet our needs.

The cord is a bit short though would have liked a bit more cord to run a drip loop

Died after a month
