Bought this heater for our living room. When the heater arrived it would not power up and I contacted the seller. I was told this is common and we would have to take the unit apart and check verify the wires were crimped properly. They sent us a manual to follow to take apart and check the wires. Started disassembly and discovered that the ground had not been attached. Also discovered that one of the plastic snap plugs that hold the power assembly was broken. Even more amazing is the air is supplied to the heating elements by what I guess 60 - 70mm pc fan. After crimping the wires per the instructions and attaching the ground the unit powered on. But pc fan was making a lot of noise so I had to take apart the unit a second time. We find out they over torqued the screws into the plastic pc fan and it was cracked and missing pieces all along the bottom. Interestingly there were no pieces from the fan in the units chassis so this happened before final assembly. When I contacted suntec they stated I would need to further dissemble the unit and install a new fan. I told them I done working on a new heater and would like a refund to which they stop replying via email immediately. I had to contact the seller and told them I will never by another suntec and would like a refund. There are many more issues that should be noted. The would paneling was pulling apart in the back where the screws go in. The sheet metal assembly was bent in my places from the screws.

The unit looked very nice but unfortunately I received a defected heater. Though it emmitted heat, the thermostat indicator didn't light up so I was unable to gauge the temperature. I received a full refund.
I got a offer to get this from Brads Deal for 29.00 and thought I would try it for a spare, I have had a Dr Heater for 31/2 years and the infraray tube went out and the company sent me a new one to install. I just have not done it yet as it is doing a good job just with reg heat. Sorry got side tracked, after ordering the suntec I looked for reviews, and was very concerned but waited to get it to see.. It arrived within 48 hours from VMInnovations and the packing was very good the quality of the build was excellent as was the finish. The controls are somewhat different from the Dr Heater but easy to figuar out. It started up and ran perfectly and heated very quickly and then shut off to standby and later came back on and continues to work flawlessly. I would buy another if needed. I did have reason to call VMI and the costumer service was excellent, the question was nothing about the heater, it had to do with billing, the special "code" did not register on checkout, and they immediately refunded the difference to my account. Based on my experience with the heater and company, I would not hesitate to recommend or purchase another unit. My only compaint, the unit does not have castors to move around, but that will be taken care of this spring. That is the reason for only 4 stars. I doubt that I got the only good one they made, it is the LRC2000 model. Good LUCK if you purchase onel.
