This cd of suppe overtures, the last in the series, is by far the best. Crisper ensemble, great sound - at times it brings back memories of the old Mercury/Parry collection. This recording took place in 1999, vol 5 was in 1996. Something good happened in those 3 years! All of the selections are rare and probably make their debut to recording. Not a loser among them. Wish Marco Polo would arrange to record all of the Auber overtures.
