This product has three problems for me...

1. Being a wireless device, it doesn't work well very far away from the receiver. So...I probably need to wire from the receiver to the DVR. I planned on putting cameras around the house and putting all the receivers next to the DVR which would allow me to use the short cable to send the video into the DVR. But instead, I'll have to distribute the receivers around the house as well..and have to run video cable from there to the DVR. Not fun. Holes in wall...cables exposed... Almost defeats the purpose of it being wireless. Though it is good if you want the camera outside and the receiver inside.

2. It interferes with my 802.11g wireless. I haven't tested this with other wireless protocols...but I know that when it's on in the same room or close to where my laptop is operating, it will cause me problems connecting. I've tried two of their cameras, and they both do this consitently. I don't think it's a defective camera...I think it's just the way it is. I called their technical support and they indicated they've never heard of this problem. Unlikely since two out of two devices result in the same effect. But...whatever their lawyers say they have to say.

3. You cannot use more than 3 of these recievers in an area. They only broadcase on three channels. I bought four cameras with four receivers. Since there are only three channels, I cannot use the fourth receiver. They just battle between the two for who will display on the screen. Sucks since I bought a four channel DVR to record the video. I haven't tested this...but I have a feeling that since their broadcast range is so short, that if I put one on one side of the house and another on the other side broadcasting on the same channel, they won't interfere with each other and I'll have to wire to get a solid picture to the DVR anyway. So...one flaw makes another flaw a non-issue...in a way.

There are ip cameras out there that I'm toying with that might work better. Just instead of using a DVR...I have to dedicate a computer to it. Plus...they don't come in this small size that might be good for discreet recording.

Make sure you have plenty of light. They don't get much in the dark.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good video, February 11, 2008

I like the video the only problem is i wish you could make it zoom in and out and have adio. The camera itself was great as far as video. I am going to try something else that hooks up to my pc with a reciever. I recieved everything on time which was nice.
