These cameras/camcorders are of cheap quality. They fall apart quickly. (We got ours last night and this morning had trouble getting it to work.) The company does not supply the right drivers for the camera to work with Windows Xp and they are not available from the website. Filming in low lighting is a joke - all you see is a black screen. The zoom is only digital zoom, so if you zoom in closely, the pixels are huge. On the camera it says "Effective 3.1 MP - MAXIMUM 12 MP" Pretty much - you never get 12 mp quality (false advertising). If you want that kind of quality, go spend the 1500-2000 dollars that reliable retailers are asking. This looks and works like a child's toy.

I am pretty pleased with this product. I just got it and it works wonderfully. It takes excellent video (The video is a bit grainy because the video resolution isn't the best so if you are buying it for the video i would go with a mini-DV camera.) The pictures are awesome and with the 2" lcd on it you can see what you are taking pictures and video of. It also is an MP3 player.
Con's - To be effective you really need to buy an SD card. it has some memory on it but i can get about 3 good pictures on it and about 10 seconds of video before it runs out of memory. It takes up to a 1 GB card so you can get about 3 hours out of it. The focusing is difficult when tried to do closeups . I tried to take a very close up of something and it didn't work all that well.
Over all I think this is a magnificent product and I would highly recommend it. It's so small and portable!

Pinhole Camera
well, Look at the lens yourself. This uses a pinhole camera's lens which is very tiny. and I meant it, TINY!!!consider this similar to a low quality webcam. That is the quality you will get. look at the lens before you buy a camera. Conclusion: THIS IS GARBAGE!!!

Silicon Valley Peripherals is good at one thing only and that is complete and absolute deception. They sell the most inferior product on the market and charge $30.00 in shipping for what actual cost is $7.00.

Please do yourself a favor before making a purchase with them and look up their ebay trade name clippercutie or Silicon Valley Peripherals with Ripoff Report or Google.

You will be glad you did.

do yourself a favor and don't even think about buying svp - the one i got was junk - the shoot button was very hard to press - the pictures were blurry - it kept cutting off and i had to open the battery compartment and disconnect and reconnect the battery to get it to come on - there was no wrist strap in the box and it came with the wrong usb cable - when i sent it back for a refund - they kept putting me off and putting me off about it until finally after over 45 days later they gave me only a partial refund and charged me $ 25 restocking fee - i can not believe that they would try to resell a defective product ... like the title says - don't even think about - you will end up losing more than your money

To any and all that think they will be getting a bargain if purchasing this camera/cam. This is the worse piece of plastic I have ever bought. I bought mine through Ebay from the seller clippercutie. I bought before Christmas for a friend, so it was a gift for her, we received it 12 or 13 days after ordering, after trying it out at her daughters girlscout party and then at a few other gatherings of her family, we both were thoroughly displeased with the quality of this camera. I was told early on in email from clippecutie that I needed to have the camera on the "fine" setting, well I had already figured that out and tried it, made no difference in pic quality. It actually looks like a cell phone camera pic. The pics are grainy no matter what setting you have it on. Again I email her to tell her the issues and I am told that their policy is 7 days, after that no returns..period. She said I could take it up with the factory with their warranty, but thats not right for her to push this issue off onto them, a seller has a responsibility to sell items that are what they say they are. This camera definitely was not a 12 mp. Maybe 2 or 3 at the most. I am currently trying to get a refund through PayPal. At best all I can really hope for is to get about 65.00 or 70.00 dollars back. Its going to cost me shipping both ways and their 20.00 to 25.00 restocking fee and to cover their Ebay expenses. This seller needs to be banned from Ebay and Amazon.com. She does not know what customer service is, and if she does then she still treats her customers like they are idiots. This camera honestly isn`t worth 10.00. I wouldn`t give it to a kid for a toy.

I made the mistake of not reading the reviews first. I purchased this cute camera in the hopes the 12MP would be remarkable. Problem is, the camera is only 5.1 MP, with a maximum of 12 MP! I took a few pictures using the tripod in excellent light and got the fuzziest, worst pictures ever. When I complained I was told this product is a camcorder, and only a digital camera secondary. What?! Why is it called a digital camera. Do yourself a favor and don't give this, whatever it is, a second thought.

Its a very low quality product.
Very bad picture and video quality. Its nice that it plays mp3, thats a positive side but other than that I would not suggest it. pay some more and get a decent product or else it will be lying at a dusty corner...
